3 Cool Tools for the Internet Marketing Mom
Over the last week I have come across 3 cool internet marketing tools I wanted to share with you all. I was not familiar with any of them, so I figured you, my reader may not be aware of some or all of them as well. They are pretty cool, and make quick work of tasks we need to be doing anyway! I’m all about saving some extra minutes in the day. That leaves me time to help Hanna build a new castle with the Mega Blocks she got for Valentine’s Day!
The first two tools are keyword related. I have talked about how important keywords are in the past. I also want to mention another way I use keywords. This tool will produce a huge list of related keywords. I find this kind of list super handy for times when I have WRITER’S BLOCK!! I can take a look at my related keyword list and grab a topic I can blog about.
There are other ways you can use this tool as well. You can put a website address in the keyword finder and use the “website content” button. This will send the keyword tool looking at the website address you have entered, it will then produce a list of keywords based on the content of that site. You can enter your own website url or one of your competitors and see what keywords they are using. Pretty nifty huh?
So what is this awesome tool? It’s Google’s own Adwords Keyword Tool. I’m just not quite brave enough to be gambling my money on adwords yet, so I never would have thought of this as a possible solution for finding keywords. Let me tell you though ~ it works GREAT. When I used this to look up keywords for my Natural Pregnancy and Childbirth site I got over 300 keywords back! Pretty nice.
Take it for a spin, it’s completely free ~ I don’t even think you need an open adwords account to access the tool. If nothing else it might give you some keyword ideas you hadn’t already thought of.
The second keyword tool is Wordtracker. I have heard about this product since I got started in the internet marketing niche. I hadn’t been doing a lot of keyword research (shame on me) and didn’t want to fork out a monthly fee for something I probably wouldn’t use.
Well guess what! Wordtracker has a free trial. It works exactly the same as the regular Wordtracker ~ only on a limited basis. They offer you a shorter list of keywords and you can only do further research on 30 of the keywords you find. It is a little limiting, but if you are only trying to find out how many searches or how much competition your favorite keyword has it’s great.
If you find yourself turning into a keyword research junky, this is the tool I would recommend. It is definitely worth the money if you are doing regular keyword research.
My last tool for you today is related to an activity you should be doing to increase your traffic and build relationships in the blogosphere. Comment on other blogs! You are doing that right? Have you commented on this blog? With a sincere and interesting comment that furthers the conversation? You know you get a free backlink for doing that right? Make sure you use your anchor text as your name in the comment form.
Lecture over ~
It can be difficult and time consuming to find blogs related to your topic. NO More. I am so excited to find this one, it has made my life so much easier.
We’re going back to google for this cool internet marketing tool. Google’s Blog Search. All you do is go to this page and insert a keyword for the type of blog you are looking for. Google will pull up all the blogs it can find for you keyword. You can choose to have them listed by relevancy or by date. It is really easy and I found some KILLER blogs yesterday I had never seen before.
When I find a good blog I think I will want to comment on regularly I usually get the feed on my google homepage. That way I can easily keep an eye on the topics and jump over and read the post and comment. You could also use the same strategy I shared in Quick Easy Social Bookmarking for your comment blogs. That would work quite well.
There you have it ~ 3 Cool Internet Marketing Tools to make your work quicker and your life easier. Enjoy! What tools are you using that help make your life easier? Tell me about them in the comment section. I’m always looking for more ways to make life easier.
