Affiliate marketers are using Squidoo more and more. It is free, you don’t have to hide your affiliate links, it’s a great community, and fun! Many new affiliate marketers ask the question what do I do if I don’t have a website?

Squidoo is an awesome answer to this problem.

What is Squidoo?

Squidoo is a community made up a “lenses”. A lens is a webpage made by a community member. You can make a lens on any topic, it can be business, family, pets, shopping anything at all that strikes your fancy!! A lens is made up of “modules”. A module is simply a way to add content to your lens easily. There are many different modules available. You just pick the ones that you enjoy, and will work well in your lens for the topic you are working with. Some modules will even make you some money without having to join any program.

How do I use Squidoo for affiliate Marketing?

These modules are great for affiliate marketing. You can use the “text/write” module to talk a little about the topic of your affiliate product and then put a link to the product. You can do this for any topic or any product. In fact you can have many affiliate products within one lens. Especially if you have a number of products that are about the same topic. You can also use the “link list” module to make a list on any given topic. In addition to a title and description you can place a link to a product.

There are many ways to add your affiliate products to your squidoo lenses. Just keep in mind the fact people buy from people they know, like and trust. So if all you do is throw a bunch of links up, without offering any information about yourself or the topic you are talking about people will know you are just trying to sell them and will probably find what they are looking for elsewhere, even if you have what they are looking for.

What sells best?

When you make your lenses, be conversational. You are a real person. People reading your lenses need to know that! They will connect with you and will take a recommendation from you more seriously if they feel they know you. Make sure to read through your lenses before you publish them to make sure you are offering valuable information and that they make sense.

Also and this is ****important**** make sure you links work. You can drive traffic to your squidoo site all you want, but if your links don’t work no one can buy anything from you!!

You can use all the techniques in this blog to drive traffic to your new lens or lenses. (Beware it’s kind of addictive!).

How much does it cost?

Squidoo is a great way for the beginning affiliate to start out. It is FREE and lenses gets indexed quickly and rank very high in google. Use your keyword tool to decide your titles and you will be at the top of google in no time.

This was a very basic introduction to Squidoo. There is sooo much to learn I could do a whole blog on Squidoo, and some people do. I found a great Squidoo Course called Squidoo Secrets that has helped me earn more and more from my squidoo lenses. It is taught by Bob the Teacher. It is full of information and will walk you through step by step how to make squidoo a big money maker for you. This course is also free!
