Big Changes at Ezinearticles.com ~ You’re Safe with Squidoo Christmas Cash

2009 October 21
by Jackie

Many people who have taken action on the Christmas cash blueprint have found that it is working like a charm! Finding really specific product related keywords has it’s benefits.

1. They are really easy to find!

2. They have a lot of search volume ~ so you get good traffic

3. They have minimal competition so you can rank pretty easy.

4. There are practically limitless, so your only limit is your time and focus.

Well today I just found 1 more reason why this is a great plan for niche marketers, not only for the holiday season, but year round.

5. Ezinearticles.com is cracking down on article topics.

Just like Squidoo’s recent policy changes, EZA is taking the same evasive action. Trying to keep the directory free of crappy content created by software, on topics where everyone is saying the same thing over and over again.

Here’s the post on their blog where you can read more about the changes.

I’ve been saying this for a while, and I’m really glad I figured out an easy way with the blueprint to help people hear what I’m saying but these super “popular” niches like “get your ex back” and “acai berry” is NOT the way to go folks.

Especially if you are a beginner. Do you know how big Travis’ list is? He’s sending every email you get about get your ex back to every single person on his list ~ I don’t know exact numbers but I can imagine it’s mind blowing.

All of those people are now competing against YOU, for those ex back keywords. How many people are competing with you for Ironman Gravity 4000 inversion table? (well probably a lot more than there used to be since I used it as an example for everyone to see lol ~ but you get my point).

It’s time to branch out, find your own groove, find products ~ there are literally a never ending supply of products and things people are looking for.

It’s a growing trend, these sites you can post content on want QUALITY. It’s what makes the site valuable. If Squidoo has done it, now EZA is doing it, you can bet they aren’t the last.

BE ORIGINAL!!!

Ok ~ this really was just a quick post to give you all a heads up about what’s coming down the road at EZA if you hadn’t seen it already ~ a real post will be coming later. :)

Need some help getting started? Wherever you are I can probably help. Whether it's Squidoo, niche blogs, or an authority blog, one on one help is available!!

    Hi Jackie,
I can’t wait for every new post at your blog! I love your information and I seem to relate to you very well. I have been trying internet marketing for about two years now off and on. I got laid off last October and really hit things hard. I have learned so much and started with Travis’ Bum Marketing Method and then went to One Week Marketing (with a few other products I bought in between that were way over my head and not alot of help). Between all of the information I have learned I made a sale or two in the past year – not much.
However, I started the Christmas Cash Program two weeks ago and have three sales!
Everything you teach makes so much sense and makes it easier for me to understand. Granted, I could not have caught on so quick with Potpie Girls help, her product and information are also amazing.
Sorry this is so long, I am just so excited and wanted to say thank you. To all of you new people out there – stay focused, stick with one thing and it WILL work.
Well, I got distracted a little better get back to building links!

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!! It’s stories like this that bring tears to my eyes. There’s no reason everyone can’t succeed out here. There’s more than enough for everyone and I’m really glad I can be part of it. :) Congrats on taking action, and making sales. Love it.

    Hey Jackie,

I can really relate to Lisa’s post above because I also started with Travis’ Bum Marketing and then went to Jennifer’s OWM. I did stay with Travis’ get my ex back though, and I was cruising along making sales head over heals with it (I made $202). And then Wordpress decided to change their TOS and decided that my get my ex back was no longer viable, so whenever someone clicks on one of my links within my blog it takes them to a Wordpress site that states my blog is Trash (my interpretation)! So, I did all 53 posts and many months of work all for NOTHING! So, why am I telling you this? Because you just made me realize that I really need to find MY OWN NICHE and make it work for me!!! I was in the middle of transferring everything from Wordpress to Blogspot, but I seriously think I’m going to give up on that and find something that’s going to be all mine (or at least not as big as Travis’ get my ex back).

THANK YOU JACKIE !!! I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate you and what you are doing!

    Hi Cindy
That’s the thing about wordpress.com. They state in their TOS that they do NOT allow any making money from their site. They also state you can not link to sites just for the purpose of helping them in the search engine rankings.

Don’t feel too bad ~ I didn’t read the TOS when I first started, and I had a BUNCH of blogs on there ~ in fact, most of my linking network was stupidly on wp.com ~ and I got them ALL deleted ~ with no warning. You can read the whole sad story here if you want to do some non money making behavior lol. Unfortunately for me, the blog I started that talked about Hanna and the beginning days of my motherhood were on wp.com as well, now all gone.

That’s definitely a problem you face when you work on free sites where other people own your stuff, I’ll tell you I ALWAYS read the TOS before I start putting content somewhere now ~ looking for little rules like that. :(

Wow Jackie, that is sad! I’m so sorry to hear that happened to you. :(

Obviously, I didn’t read the WP TOS beforehand. If I had, I would have NEVER started my blog on their site since my whole intention was to make money from my blog… but what gets me is I started this blog in December 2008 and it took them 8 months to find my blog and then send my traffic to their “Trash” site just when I started to make some money?!?!

And what gets me even more angry is at the time when I started this blog, I was a member of a “marketing” forum and just about everyone on this forum knew me and knew what I was trying to do and not one single person even suggested that WP might not be the place for me to start!

Oh well, it is all water under the bridge now! I really need to focus my attentions on getting those 5 lenses on the first page of Google now! :)

    Thanks for letting me rant!

Good for EZA! I love their service and was worried they would be taken over by all the crap out there.

When quality sites like Squidoo, HubPages and EZA start cracking down on all the topics like Reverse Phone Detective, Get Your Ex Back and Weight Loss – it should tell us something about those markets.

    Thanks Jackie!

The wp blogs that you all are talking about is their site, right? If you host wp on your own hosting account (less than $10 these days), can’t you transfer your whole account to your own server acct? Not sure if that’s possible but just a thought.

The point was people started in the beginning not understanding how important having your own hosting is and once wp.com cans your site you can’t get to it to transfer.

I noticed there is another Ken so not to be confused I added my initial.
Maybe a little off topic but I stumbled on the wp direct. (I later saw your lens for it, nice!) Have you personally used it and what are your thoughts on it? Could we use it to help with the backlinks for Christmas blogs since it seems fast to set up? Thanks.

Hi Ken D. :) Thanks for that, I didn’t realize there are two of you. :)

Wordpress direct. Not sure it is what I thought it was going to be. I do have 3 blogs up over there right now, but don’t really use them for much other than a place to link from (sidebar and in posts when relevant).

It would be a perfect place to build a Christmas blog though. I hadn’t even thought of that!! It’s been a while since I’ve been there, not sure they’re still adding content on free accounts, but it would be a great place to set up a blog to use for linking. Yes.

Go with the free version first, see what you think about it. It should be enough for what you want to do. If you think you need more and you like what they do, then think about an upgrade. There’s probably no reason to have to pay for this.

I know some of you follow Travis ~ but I thought I’d put this up here. I just saw a video he posted and he gives a couple good alternatives to using EZA if you are looking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsnKbH8CbW0

Enjoy ~ and if you use either of the other options please drop in and let us know how it goes.
