May 21, 2006. That is the day I wrote
my first blog post. Exactly 21
days after I had my
daughter. I was in over my head, exhausted and
frustrated with a kiddo who screamed hour after hour,
day after day. I had
to get it out and creating a
blog is the way I did it.
I continued to blog about
being a new parent, but I thought it wasn't a "good enough"
topic to make money on. I mean, come on, who wants to read
about how little sleep I'm getting and how much screaming
she's doing? Little did I know if I had stuck with it I
would have fallen right in line with a whole group of
bloggers now known as "mommy bloggers".
I didn't
realize it at the time, and thought if I wanted to make
money blogging I would have to blog about making money
online. I started www.InternetMarketingforMommies.com
after many half hearted attempts at blogging on free
platforms. I finally got hosting and decided to go with
wordpress.org for my blogging platform. The first post on
that site went up on 10/02/07. With some fits and starts,
lots of chasing shiny things the blog is still alive and
doing great 370 posts later.
What I didn't know
then, that I do now is you can blog about anything. You can
make money blogging about anything! What I wish I'd known
then is that the make money online niche is one of the
hardest things you can blog about. While I'm making money in
that niche now... it took me years to break through. I could
have been in profit many years ago if I had stuck with my
mom blog ~ or anything else other than internet marketing
LOL.
I also wish I'd understood then that there is other ways to make money online other than blogging. You can create micro niche sites, or medium sized niche sites. There are quite a few strategies where you can see the "end" of a project. Every project or idea doesn't have to be an ongoing forever project. Yeah, I really wish I'd realized that earlier. :)
I understand how terrifying creating an online income can be.
There are so many options, so many shiny things, lack of confidence, and until you make some money you have no real way of knowing if what you're doing is really going to work or not! That can be very overwhelming! You've probably been trying to make money online
for some time now and so you have tons of information while information is great, it can also lead to complete overwhelm and paralysis! It's that paralysis that can keep you from taking any action at all for fear it won't be right, or you'll ruin it all... which can't really happen. But if you don't take any action... you can't make any money.
I'm here to
help.
One of my biggest
difficulties when getting started was not having anyone to
turn to if I had a question. There weren't a lot of people
offering coaching at the time, and no one was really
offering help to new people. If they were it was way out
of my price range.
I spent hours and hours scouring
the internet piecing together all the different aspects of
how to make this whole online business thing work. Every time I had
a question I had to go do research.
This is all fine
and good for me. I love research. I love searching the
internet. I was home all day and had the time to do it.
You may not have that luxury. You may not enjoy those
aspects of working online.
That's OK.
I'm
going to offer up myself to help you get started. It is my
intention to provide services to those who are ready to help themselves, but need some help figuring out the best way to get started, something they can stick with, and what action steps they need to do to make it happen.

Let's start at the
beginning.
One of the most frequently asked
questions I get is
What's the best way to make _______ [fill in the blank amount of money a month]?
Fair question. It can be very overwhelming with all the options and possibilities. It can be tough to decide. You may know a little bit about each thing, but not exactly how it works or if it will fit for you and your strengths. You've
probably had tons and tons of people give you all kinds of
metrics that your topic needs to fit in. There's search
volume, and competition, how many posts on the site, and how many keywords to target, and how to promote, and how to get traffic and and and.... It can make your
head spin.
Having someone to talk to, brainstorm
with can make the process of deciding on a topic and
creating a plan for your business so much easier. So that's where I come in.
Here are brainstorming/coaching services I provide.
Business Brainstorming
It can be really tough to move forward and take action if you don't even know what you're trying to do. You may have set some monetary goals ie. "I want to make 10K a month" but do you know what you need to do to create that income?
Do you know what business model you're going to work in? Are you doing micro niche sites? Niche blogs? Authority blogging? Selling things on Ebay?
Do you the steps you need to take to be successful in the model you've chosen?
If not, you could probably use some business brainstorming. You and I will get on the phone for 30 minutes. We'll talk about your strengths, your weaknesses, your likes and dislikes. We'll create a plan for your business to create the income you desire.
We'll also put together the action steps you'll need to take to create your income.

Keyword Brainstorming
Do you already have a niche picked out but aren't sure what you should be writing about? What keywords you should be targeting? Where you should be using those keywords? On your site? In your articles? How many times, when where? ARGH!

Site Brainstorming
Are you just starting out and overwhelmed? Don't know where to start, or what to write about. Have some ideas but don't know how to choose a niche and get started?
Then Site Brainstorming may be right up you alley. We'll get together on the phone for 30 minutes and we'll figure it out together. We'll brainstorm niche ideas, and do some testing to see which one might be best to tackle first.
We'll also brainstorm some topics you can write about, how to organize your site and the best way to set up your site to get search traffic.
This brainstorming session will be perfect for those who have been learning and learning and are filled with ideas, but now are paralyzed to get started. Talking it out will get your past your paralysis and we'll work together to get you moving forward and taking action.

Do have a lot of questions and just wish someone was there to answer them as you are working so you can keep moving forward? Email Q and A is a great option, that allows you total email access to me for a week.
As you work on a project, and have a question or get stuck, or just need a little encouragement you simply send me an email. I will respond and help you get moving again. Emails are responded to more quickly than you might think, usually in a couple hours or less, but no longer than 24 hours.
If you need a little "hand holding" this is a great way to go, it allows you to spread your coaching time out over a project, and have access to me while you're working.
