This is a totally different way to use article marketing. You will still be writing articles, but their purpose is different and how you use them is completely different as well. The purpose of these articles is not really to drive traffic, but it is about getting many many links point back to your site. For these articles you want to write quality content, but you want to focus on getting your keywords in the links in your resource box more than anything.
The big piece of this puzzle is quantity. The point of this process is to get a LOT of articles out so you have a lot of links pointing to your site. In the past this was done by just mass posting the same article to as many article directories as you could find. The problem with this strategy is of course, the Big G caught on. They no longer count all those links and many article directories carry little weight, so your links are pretty much worthless. The other problem with this method is you are sending out hundreds (thousands) of links with the exact same anchor text for your links, and sites are being penalized for this, so it’s actually counter productive.
The better way of doing this is by spinning articles or creating unique articles and anchor text and getting them out to as many sites as you can find. This gives you unique content and varied anchor text, but the you still have the same problem of the article directories aren’t weighted that heavily and it can take FOREVER to manually submit to all these sites.
The best way to do this type of article marketing is to get involved in a network where not only are your articles distributed to article directories, but people within the network have blogs where your content is posted. This gives you unique IP addresses, real blogs being posted to regularly. This is really the best way to go. It gets even better if the network you belong to is able to spin your articles and automate the submissions.
I’ve been testing out a variety of these services and networks over the last year and have found some to be great and some to be not so great. Here are two of the ones I like.
This is a service that will create unique articles for you and will send them out to many article directories as well as many blogs in the network.
Pros:
- You send unique articles and varied anchor text for all of your articles
- Your articles go out to blogs in addition to the article directories
- You can grab unique versions of your articles to use elsewhere (including EZA)
Cons:
- There is a bit of a learning curve to using the system
- It’s a monthly fee
- You can only put links in the resource box
This network is made up of blogs only. It is set up to build links back to your sites from varied IP addresses, and the owner has done some great things to help those sites build PR so your links are worth more.
Pros:
- Your articles are actually blog posts and they only go out to blogs
- You have the ability to spin your posts and your anchor text for unique content and varied anchor text
- It’s really simple ~ basically the same as posting a blog post
- It works fast ~ you can see results very quickly
- You can have 3 links within the body of your post, you don’t have to do a resource box
Cons:
- You have to have a self hosted wordpress site you can donate to the network.
- You have to spin your own articles if you want them to be unique
- It’s a monthly fee
Both of these services do about the same thing ~ I recommend them both. Which one is right for you depends on your strengths.
On one hand with UAW you can get unlimited unique versions of the articles you submit, which is great because you can use them wherever you need content to build links. However, you do have to do MORE up front writing with that system.
At 1 way links you only have to write 1 article, and use some spinning for unique versions ~ but you don’t get any other unique copies you can use elsewhere.
I would go with 1 Way Links if you are familiar with hosting your own wordpress site, and don’t mind spinning your own articles or paying someone to do it for you.
What works faster?
In my experience the 1 way links network works quicker than UAW in terms of moving you up the search engine ranking because of the links you gained via the network.
So all in all it really depends on what you want or need:
If you need extra content to help build links elsewhere ~ go with UAW.
If you just need to get links fast and have hosting and an open domain name you can give up to the network, I’d go with 1 way links.
If you’d like to take a look at either or both of these programs here are the links.
Understand this level of linking will probably NOT be necessary for your Christmas Cash product lenses, just because the competition level is so low, but if you find you’re not ranking with the basic link building you might want to try these services.
If you are doing niche sites or tackling more competitive keywords, these services can be priceless. I have used both of these services, and they both work well. Be advised if you buy through either of these links I will earn a little bit of money ~ which is what keeps all this great content coming your way.

Hi Jackie:
As a slightly different twist, what I usually do is write several articles, each focusing on a different, but related keyword. Then, each article will have a unique anchor text link pointing back to my site/lense. The benefit is that the site/lense can rank for several keywords simultaneously.

Hello,
I would like to thank you for this very helpful article. I am starting a blog with ebook as it’s niche.
I really would like to get to the two programs that you have mentioned above but I can’t seem to decide yet because I am not sure if it’s the right time for me to get one or the two programs you have mentioned.
My blog is still new. I would like to get your ideas to help me decide whether I buy one of the programs so that I can get the traffic that I need.
Here’s the link to my blog to take a look at it. Please give me some suggestions whether which program fits my blog.

Before you spend money on a service, I suggest you write more pillar content. Then follow the free backlinking strategies you can find in section 3 on the articles page of this site. While they may talk about building links to squidoo lenses, they work for any site, and will get you started and get a little traffic before you sink money into this project.
I would also think about your target market for this site… you might do better if you zeroed in on a specific group of books ex. business/fiction/parenting… whatever. Trying to cover all books you’re never going to be able to really truly call anyone specifically to your site.
I’d be careful when writing reviews that they are good, in depth reviews ~ and it would be wise if you’d used the reader (or read the book) before you write it. Pasting reviews from Amazon is not going to be a good way to work this kind of site. This is a VERY competitive market. You’re going to have to differentiate yourself somehow from all the internet marketers out there competing for this new market. I’d also make sure you only recommend/promote readers that are good. I’ve heard some REALLY bad things about the pandigital reader you’ve got in one post. Your credibility is going to be key in a site like this. People are going to need to trust your recommendations if all you’re going to be doing is recommending books.
Both seem like great ideas. I’ve considered using Unique Article Wizard before, but couldn’t make up my mind if its worth it. Personally, the 1 Way Links concept sounds more appealing for what I’m trying to do. I think I’ll give it a shot. I’ll report back here with a comment after I have an obective opinion to give. Thanks for the resources.

Look forward to hearing how it goes for you. Just be aware it may take 2 to 3 months to really see results with either one of those services.
This is helped me to make my decision.
Thanks Jackie!
I just wanted to thank you for your great insight on back links. My site GFRC Construction was struggling to make on google at all and in a few short days I am sitting on page 3 of google an climbing fast. Thanks !
I was very pleased to find this site and wanted to thank you for this great read. I definitely enjoyed every little bit of it and have bookmarked your site to check out new stuff you post.
Thanks a lot.
This is something I’ve always struggled with. Do I want to be putting out money each month for something that I have made no money on yet? Well, ok, I have made $1.44.
The impulsive part of me wants to grab one or both of these services, but the practical (paranoid?) side of me says to wait. Know what I’m saying?
It’s hard to know how much we should invest in the Christmas cash endeavor, at least in the beginning.

If you don’t want to spend the money (which is understandable) you’re going to have to spend the time.
You can do all the linking on your own ~ you just have to spend the time and effort and do it. Just understand that building links is THE thing (for this strategy) that will get you traffic to make the sales.
You’ll need to evaluate which you have more of right now, money or time.
You can create free blogs and post, you can google a list of article directories and publish the articles you write there, you can post to free ad blogs ~ there are places to make the links to get it done, you just have to do it.
I want to thanks to all for create good information about backlinks…… yes i like so much and want to say best of luck to owner.
Take care

One thing about 1 Way Links – am I correct in what I read on their site, you get to post on 250 blogs per month, although you can split that up between various articles.
So, if I’m writing articles to get backlinks for LOTS of different products and blogs, I’m probably better off staying with UAW, where I can write an unlimited number of articles each month, correct?

Yes, I would say that is true Kelly ~ UAW is probably a better fit for you in that situation.
good link thankx
Thanks Jackie – that’s exactly the number I was thinking sounded reasonable for a lens and I really appreciate your expert opinion!
Laura :O)
Yeah, 50 is a lot.
I usually set it at 10 a day for lenses. Congrats for getting in there and using it!
Hi Jackie – I have UAW but never use it – I guess I felt it was too much of a learning curve but I’ve recently gone back to it and I think I’ve got it figured out now. Anyway, I wanted to ask you for your recommendation on what you should set UAW at for number of article submissions per day if you’re promoting a squidoo lens? It’s defaulted to 50 per day but I’m worried that’s going to be overkill.
Your thoughts?
Thank you in advance,
Laura
Thanks Jackie!
This has helped me make my decision!
Cindy
Hey Cindy,
Thx for the rt I appreciate it. If you only have 1 niche site ~ I’d probably say no, if you are making many niche sites on many different topics I’d say yes it’s worth it.
Yes it does make unique versions of the article. There’s a way you have to do it, that includes more upfront writing, but it does create unique versions. You don’t “spin” the article so they aren’t those nasty, don’t even make sense spun articles. I could literally not tell the difference between my writing and the writing in the unique versions of my articles.
Hi Jackie,
I have a question about the Unique Article Wizard… does this software actually make new and unique articles? I know it says it does, but I have bought sooo many other things that “said” they did this and that, and you said you have used this, so I would like your honest opinion. And my main website is in the relationship niche (get my ex back). Do you think this would be worth my $67/month to purchase this?
Thanks!
Cindy
