Someone has contacted me and wants to advertise their site on one of my lenses (the one I get the most traffic for).

Do you know if this is prohibited?

Welcome. Your site looks good ~ I love the header ~ I’ve always wanted to go on a safari ~ a photo safari really. Anyway… my suggestion would be to add a blog to your site ~ and then start blogging. The new content and ability to target keywords will help you drive traffic to your site. Check out the build a blog section of the articles page to get your site set up and then follow along with our blogging challenges and the steps to create an authority blog to go along with your site. You can also create squidoo lenses or hubs about topics related to your site and then link to your site from those lenses. You can also write articles about related topics, submit them to article directories ~ linking back to your site in the resouce box. (you can find more information on all of these topics on this site. just use the search box in the sidebar or the articles page) It’s a good idea to set up a twitter account (which we’re working on now). There are lots of things you can do to make that site work.

Have you, or others in the group, noticed that Squidoo lenses suddenly take forever to load. It can take up to 4 minutes to load!!! During this time the message “transferring data from http://www.google.com” is displayed in the Firefox status bar. I see people are raising it on the SquidU forum as well. One certainly wouldn’t get any click-throughs at this rate.

I’ve installed a plugin called keywordluv for that exact purpose. You should now see a note under the comment area that says if you put your name @your keywords in the name field it will show up with your keywords linked to the url. It’s just one way I choose to give back to my readers. It’s a great way to get sites/lenses indexed (and to get good backlinks back to your site!), so feel free.

I will post my URl’s in the comments as well. I’m always very scared to do so as I do not want to take advantage.
