Hi Susan,

If you're looking for keywords for squidoo lenses you might want to check out the post I did on my Squidoo site today. I used MNF and did a little tutorial along the way. http://www.squidoochristmascash.com/keyword-research-finding-a-keyword/

This post is terrific. I am afflicted with that "shiny objects syndrome" and it is comforting to know I'm not alone.
I even bought Micro Niche Finder and don't know how to use it. It's collecting virtual dust. Maybe soon I'll know how.

O yes, I forgot to mention, I added an Amazon product according to the Christmas lens formula and I'll report if it made any change, I don't really think it will, but I'll let you know.

Jackie, Micro Niche Finder is definitely on my wish list. I have just had an example of choosing the wrong keyword again, today. I have a lens that had 751 visitors the last seven days, NO SALES. Now it is a good lens and it helps people a lot so I'm glad to help, but a little money would be nice!

So, why I came back to this post is to just add my 2 cents about the importance of buying keywords. Helping people is really fun, but we cannot spend all our time on that, sometimes we do need to make lenses that actually sell! Fortunately you have shown us how now it is only a case of shoulder to the wheel.

Hey Kelly!!

Yes the whole product name on amazon is just a starting point to get you thinking specifically ~ but I bet you found some decent search volume for diamond heart journey pendant. ;)

It is interesting how keywords that looked great at one point suddenly look terrible when you have more information ~ that's just part of IM. But it is nice to know where to spend your time and effort now though. Glad you like it. I'm loving it too. Glad I decided to check it out again lol.

I bought MNF this week thru your affiliate link.

WOW.

One of the problems I was looking at -
I wanted to do a couple of jewelry lenses for the Christmas cash blueprint, but who's going to do a search for something like a 14K Yellow or White Gold Diamond Heart Journey Pendant with 22" chain? So I used MNF and found some great keywords for the jewelry I wanted to sell.

2nd - I wasn't always quite as careful as I thought I was when picking my products for my lenses. I ran all my keywords thru MNF and a couple of them are real clunkers. I was able to figure out which ones have the most search volume, coupled with the least competition. So now I know to work first and hardest on those, get them to the top, and then I can spend more time on my "less likely" to succeed product.

This is really a great product - thanks for pointing it out. :D

Hey Ken,

glad you're liking MNF. MNF searches with "exact match", which means the keywords are in the exact order. You can check "broad match" and see if it has search volume in another order. However, there are tons and tons of keywords out there I'd stick with something that you can find the exact keyword in the domain name or lens url. You're more likely to have success if you have the exact keywords in your domain or url.

I just got the MNF. I like it so far but had a question. Lets say you found a keyword for ex: "spicy green apples" and it had 5000 search volume. but you can't get that domain name or keyword for lens, but you change the words around to "spicy apple green"?That term has no data but same keywords. How much would that matter when people do the search? If I could get a domain for that, could I rank good for listings on google?

Hey Ken,

It's really fun and makes research pretty easy. I only look at the SOC, and search volume.

What you're going to look at is going to be completely dependent on what you're trying to do. If you were doing only article marketing for a product (sending people directly to product page from articles) you would want minimal other articles on your keywords so there was less competition.

For the product lenses I check SOC, and search volume. Because all I really care about is the competition level and that's what SOC tells me. I've gone and done the checking manually and every time I found SOC 30 or under it was a keyword I would have been good with doing it my manual way.

Adsense ads aren't relevant really and I don't look at that number at all ~ if you start creating adsense sites you'll want to look at the CPC of a keyword, but only if you are going to monetize your site with adsense.

Search volume, I look for keywords ~ for these product lenses (and would if I was doing my own site as well) with over 1000 search volume. If you check out the "how to use christmas cash to promote your own store/product" post on the blog I use MNF in that post ~ that's exactly what I would do if I was looking for product keywords.

IT provides tons of information, but remember to keep it simple and only use the information you really need.

I am getting ready to do a whole post on stuff like this and I'll use MNF to do it. So keep an eye out. :)

I'm looking at getting MNF and I'll get it from your link. I do have a question or suggestion. It is confusing sometimes to know how much search volume is good. Also other stats that the software provides to go with something or not.
Ex. how many ezine articles is too many, PR, adsense ads(how many is too many),etc. Maybe you could do a post on that sometime..... just asking. I watched the videos and it sold me, now to get the money(lol)...
