Free Blog Images ~ That Can Make You Money Too!

Persistence

I don’t use a lot of images on this blog, but images can really add to a site. They look great and can serve to keep people on your site a little longer. They can also really bring home a point you’re making in your blog post.

Here’s the rub…

Where do you find great images you can legally use without paying for them? Sure you can scour through flickr and find images you can use, but I’ve got another idea.

Allposters.com

Yep, a poster store. They have thousands of posters on thousands of subjects and I’m sure you can find one that will fit the topic of your blog post.

The even better thing is that you can use your affiliate link to create the images and if someone clicks through and buys it you make a commission.

Now I’m not saying you’re going to make a million bucks from your images ~ but, an additional little income stream is never a bad thing and you get fantastic images and don’t have to worry about using them illegally. Win -win from where I’m sitting. :)

Their affiliate program appears to be in house ~ although I thought at one time it was through another network, but now it seems all you have to do is fill out the application.

You will need a website for your application. If you don’t currently have a blog or a website you can create one for free on blogger to get you started. You can use the images with your affiliate  links on any site after you’ve been accepted.

This is also a great way to create images on Squidoo lenses ~ and hubpages… I’m just sayin’.

I hope this gives you an idea on how to get free blog images  ~ and maybe helps you make a little cash on the side. :) I’d love to hear how you’re finding free blog images ~ or are you paying for them? Tell me in the comments!

A question and a comment. Trying to work with Amazon.com and Blogger blog. I can’t get the product picture on to my site. The HTML never shows up on my site in regular language, just code. I have investigated every kind of tutorial and followed the directions and it still doesn’t work for me. Talk about head banging! Do you have a suggestion?

Were you able to pick a category?

ALL photos are free to use?

You can go in and do a keyword search to find what you’re looking for ~ or you can check in the categories. Yes all the images are free to use ~ It’s an affiliate program. :)

      • Dennis Edell from Direct Sales Marketing says:

Sorry, I meant a category for your blog when signing up to the affiliate program.

I let it blank as none of them fit; not even close.

Thanks for the heads up though, I definitely signed up to this one QUICK.

Pics per post is one thing I’ve had issue with since I first started blogging.

Not finding them, there are free pic sites everywhere. My issue was/is forgetting to do it altogether.

When I did remember (usually someone would comment on it), I’d spend a day looking for pics for like 40 posts…then I’d forget all over gain. lol

I’ll have to start now, as I’m still in single digit posts published.

I’m thinkin’ (hopin’) having an affiliate program attached is a surefire mind-reminder. ;)

That is quite a nifty little idea. I’m not sure it will be right for every niche (like MMO) though. Although I’ll give it a try with my professional wrestling blog. :)

  9. Excellent tip! I usually use images from affiliate programs I’m part of so it works well. I love these posters though so that will be a great addition.

  10. I love this idea.
I usually take my own photos and yes that does take time and I frequently have some I can’t use (to dark blurry etc…) so frustrating!

    Thanks for a great idea

That’s a smart idea. I have noticed that visitors click thru on my photos, so having an option to buy is a cool idea

I usually use my own pictures or choose from what’s available on Zemanta, but when you add in the affiliate idea, this is really genius. I’ve seen people do it on their lenses, never though of using it on my blog.

Another option is morguefile.com – photographers post pictures for free use, often they don’t even ask for attribution, all they want is for you to send them a message and tell them you used it. I’ve used that for a lot of my articles on Associated Content, because it’s one of the few sources they accept.

I’ve been getting my pictures from the Public Domain for free, at wikimedia.org, but I like the idea of making money of my pics. I’m definately going to give your idea a try. Thanks for the useful info/resource.

  16. Wow that’s for the great idea. I love that site but never thought of it as an income stream.

I always use my own photos and that takes a lot of time.

I’m going there now to get started.

    Thanks for the great idea.

  18. TK from How To Say says:

I use Art.com as well as Allposters. No sales yet but it does beat scouring Flickr, etc., for pix.

    • Annie from Gold Coast Australia says:

TK, Art.com and Allposters.com are one in the same! Though I noticed they use slightly different formats for links, personally I prefer Art.com.

This is a great idea, but you may have to be aware of “maintenance”, because you will have to remove photos and links later if they are discontinued on either program.

Jackie what about using the photodropper plugin in WordPress? I use that and find it quite easy to do, I know you won’t earn commissions from these photos, though.

      • Jackie Lee says:

Yes, photodropper is a good option. I had a hard time finding images that fit what I was talking about, but it is pretty simple.

  19. Sara from portable car seat reviews says:

Excellent tip, Jackie. Nice photos, plus an opportunity to earn commissions. Best of both worlds!

    Thank you. :-)
