You’re right being significant is important but you have to be relevant. Even if you love me, and listen to everything I type, and I’m trying to sell you blue suede shoes which you have no interest in ~ you’re not going to buy them. It’s definitely a both on that question. AND the conversation was about being relevant.

Hello Francis I read your comments same with Jackie, both of you agree that without relevancy you cannot sale… for me I dis agree, because being a marketer, one thing I should do to be a top marketer is being a “significant” to others…. Significant is better than relevant…

In addition to all the good points made in this post, whether it is intended or not, the searcher may feel somewhat cheated by having his/her time taken up going to a lens that isn’t going to give them the answer they were seeking. This is not going to earn the lensmaster any ‘brownie points’. Relevancy is also about honesty. It can be difficult sometimes to be sure about relevancy, but if in doubt, put yourself in the prospective buyers shoes and see how YOU would feel if you went shopping for diamonds, only to find yourself being ‘treated’ to an offer to buy a music track! This is not a personal dig at the Diamond earrings lensmaster, rather just using that example as it had been referred to before. Food for thought!

I just looked over all my lenses, including the ones I made a year ago. I can see why many of them never converted, because they truly are irrelevant!

Sometimes I question the relevancy of a lens when I make an irrelevant sale. But, then again, I’m usually just happy to make a sale!!

It’s up to you ~ you can leave it, or you can try to change it. Is it getting any traffic? Any sales? If you’re getting traffic but no sales you might want to think about revamping it. Just keep in mind if you were looking for diamond jewelry would you want to watch videos or would you want to look at jewelry and get information about diamonds? People shopping generally aren’t looking to be entertained, they’re trying to buy.

Hi Jackie,
You are really making me laugh after I caught my breath reading your relevancy post. Did you write this for me? I just created a lens called Diamonds are a girls best friend. Hmmph and guess what I not only put a Maryilyn Monroe video in it I put every version of every singer I could find on you tube that sang the song in my lens! I thought it would have an entertainment element in between the linking to diamond earrings, diamond necklaces etc etc etc. Ha! Does this mean I owe you $25? And if so you owe me another lens review!

I have always got a lot of useful knowledge from reading your posts and this time is no exception. I see what you are saying and the KISS method. And I think you are right but I don’t really want to break that lens down as it was kind of an experiment for me with keywords and trying to tie it all into something relevant which apparently I didn’t do so well. What do you think I should do? That lens took way too much time to build and what was the worst part was I couldn’t get the song out of my head for over a week it was horrible. At this point I guess I could just use it as a case study on what not to do!
