Hi Eric,

It really depends on the blog. You have to look at the comments and see what other people are doing to get a feel for what the blogger does/doesn't allow. You can try to do your first name and then @ your site name or keywords. This will fly for some bloggers, but not for others.

Now that I have kwluv I do not accept any comments that are just keywords. Because it shows me they haven't even taken the time to see they can use their name and keywords ~ which means they probably haven't taken time to read the post.

This is why I look for commentluv blogs so I know I will be getting keyword anchor text link back to my posts if nothing else.

I usually delete those auto messages. They don't add anything to my site.

Jackie, and anyone else out there, how do feel about using keywords instead of a name when posting a comment on a blog? I usually use my real first name when posting on other blogs linking to my only blog Biking Hiking with Kids and use keywords when posting on blogs for links to my sites. Some bloggers will only accept names from posters.

That is what that auto bot thing is all about. I was wondering how it worked. These links do hold weight as far a back links on blogging sites that don't pay attention and delete them. Your probably reading this and thinking I'm about to get one of those things. I almost did a few months ago. I was figuring that it would cause problems in the future so I didn't do it.
I hope it doesn't cause back linking issues for just the normally people blogging.

I know, Jakie, this is really annoying. I know I can set up Askimet to get rid of these, and I will read your post about it, sometime when life is not so hectic. For the moment I just let my husband, that had nothing better to do delete them.

I should start commenting on blogs, at the moment though, I think I'll give my Squidoos all my attention and let the Wordpress Blogs take care of themselves for a while.
