How to Use the Christmas Cash Blueprint to Promote Your Own Store or Products

Oct 30

I recently had a reader ask how she could use the Squidoo Christmas Cash Blueprint to promote her Zazzle store. It’s a great question and you can easily transfer the information in the blueprint and use it to promote stuff in your own store instead of Amazon.

I created this video to show you how I would go through the process. I’ll outline the process below for those who don’t want to watch the video. :)

So my reader wants to know how to promote her own stuff with using the Christmas Cash blueprint.  Her store offers quite a few unique t shirts as well as many other products. I decided to begin my keyword research in the t shirt section thinking I would have plenty to choose from ~ and I was right!!

Before I get to that just a couple things.

1. Remember the SEO stuff we’ve talked about for lenses is true for everything. Try to check keywords when creating your product lines, your categories, product names and titles on your site. This will help in getting search traffic to your site. It’s fun to be cute, but it’s better to get traffic. So instead of Wit -Tee I might have chosen to use the keyword “humorous t shirts” which has a search volume of  2400 month and very low competition. A few links to your main humorous t shirt page could get you ranking in the search engine for that page bringing people to look at your t shirts. :)

2. When you create a store try to put keywords in the url ~ this will help draw search traffic. (this usually means thinking about your user name beforehand, since your url is usually made up of your username)

Ok ~ so I went to Sema’s Reflections Zazzle Store and took a look around. After seeing what products she offers I decided on the following strategy.

1. Open Micro Niche Finder, and take a look for keywords related to t shirts. She has some unique t shirts I thought would be pretty easy to find relevant keywords for. Remember, you want your keywords and your product to match exactly. (You can also use the google keyword tool to look for keywords)

2. Put t shirts in the search box of Micro niche finder.

3. Look through and see if I can find relevant t shirt keywords that have good search volume and not much competition. I found quite a few:

zazzlekw5

zazzlekw4

I also found some keywords that might be great for her to create more products around.

zazzlekw2

zazzlekw

4.. From here I would begin creating a Squidoo lens targeting the keywords I found.

So I would do a lens on Unique T Shirts or Funky T Shirts ~ or any of the other good keywords I found. I would feature some of my favorite t shirts from my store on these lenses.

There is a Zazzle module at Squidoo which makes it really easy to pull your products into a lens. (I believe there is a cafepress module as well)

5. Once my targeted lens is finished  I would do the backlinking for the lens just as outlined in the blueprint and the mind map.

6. When that’s done I’d start building another lens on the next good keyword.

7. When I’m done with the t shirt keywords I would begin looking for keywords for each of my product categories and start building lenses with specific good keywords that point to the products.

This is going to take some time and effort, but it is a good way to get many different streams of traffic flowing to your store.

Not sure what you’re talking about. Can you elaborate?

    • Sorry,
I mean for the title of the lens
      Which one to use?
      Anna

      • I wouldn’t use either ~ I’d use a keyword that relates to your store. A keyword that has search volume ~ and minimal competition. That way you can rank for the lens and get some traffic from it as well as create links.

Would I need to do like annasattic.us-books?
    or books-annasattic.us?

You might go through your store by category ~ and talk about the category topic in your lens. Then link back to the page on your store that sells that type of product. One lens is not going to cover your site ~ you’ll need a bunch of different ones to build links to the different areas of your site. :)

    hope that helps.

  4. Hi Jackie,
I sell a wide variety of items. Some new and others used.
I have been racking what brain cells I have left to try and figure out a way to create a lens for my website.
Would it be possible to just to something along the lines of variety shop?
LOL my first lens is still a work in progress, but the 2nd one went faster and easier.
    Thanks for all your help.

  7. Hi Jackie, I’m still stumbling around in the dark, so if you will allow me to, I would like to send you what I believe are 2 lenses for a product that I would like to sell as a pdf file. I hope this is a proper way of working with you. Please advise either way and if it’s okay how I may send these to you. Thanks Bill P.S. I realize time is of the essence with this being a Christmas item.

That’s because those numbers are for the last 7 days. As the days go by the traffic you had 7 days ago will drop off that number. It just shows who’s come in the last week. If you don’t get new traffic as time goes by your numbers will drop.

I understand it can be pricey and it’s absolutely not necessary to get started and start making money ~ it’s just one of those nice things to get to make things quicker and easier when you start making money. It can all be done for free ~ but at some point in the future it’s nice to make things easier. :)

Hanna is feeling better today ~ thank you.

  12. Well, I much prefer the written word, being a writer myself, AND it allows me to print a copy to refer to as I need to. Can’t do that with the videos, unfortunately. So, if I might suggest, keep doing it both ways for the future? I’d appreciate it and I’m sure there are others that would, too.

That Micro Niche Finder video was very interesting, but for lots of us even $97 is pretty pricey for a program. And I still have the problem of downloading such useful stuff on my Mother’s computer which is how I’m getting online these days. My computer died and I haven’t been able to replace it yet.

So, until my lenses start paying off (please God, soon) I have to do things somewhat impeded. Oh, well, teaches one patience.

BTW, hope your Miss Hannah gets better quick. She’s a real cutie from the pix above.

    Regards,
    Christi

    Hey Donna ~

I feel ya ~ I hate that too. If you look right below the opt in form you’ll see a link that says something like just let me see the page without the videos. That link will take you directly to the sales page. I do NOT know if it works with mac or not.

You can do all the research on google keyword tool ~ I’d look for keywords with more than 1000 searches or so, the higher the better. Then check the total PR from Google page one for the sites ~ just like you would do for any keyword for the blueprint. You can review how to find low competition keywords on this post.

let me know if it works for mac if you would ~ I’d like to know.

  14. Hi Jackie, great video. I’ve got a question though, MicroNiche Finder looks like software from the video. Is it available for the Mac?

I went to their sales page, but there is NO WAY I’m going to sign up to yet another mailing list just to get a video promoting their product – especially if that product is not going to work for me (ie on a Mac). I also hate not knowing what the price is. For me right at the moment that is crucial. If it’s not something I can afford, I don’t even want to know about it, much less have to jump through hoops to find out what it is. At least in my case, MNF are not doing themselves any favors by not actually giving any useful information on their site that will help me to determine if a) it’s going to work on my computer; and b) I can afford it.

Sorry for the rant… Also, since I’m assuming that MNF is not going to work for me. What is the number you were looking at – is that the competition rating? If I use something like Google’s keyword tool, how would I calculate something similar in order to do my keyword research?

    Thanks for the great info!
    Donna

  15. Jackie,

Thanks so much for this. I’ve been really trying to figure out how to meld your Blueprint together with my Ebay store and this makes it sound so very simple.

Only problem is now I have so many ideas running aroud in my head, I’m just going to have to give up sleeping because it is unproductive time!! LOL

Thanks again!! Keep the good posts coming!!

Glad you liked the video. I have people who love and hate video ~ so hopefully I can make everyone happy (ha ha ha) by doing both video and text explanations. :)

    now go take action you!!

  17. Hiya Jackie!

No question, but I did want to tell you I really like your use of video on this post! For me, video is sooo much easier than reading, so maybe you could do a few more video posts! :)

    Thanks!

    Cindy

PS Now I really have to get to that lens, I’ve goofed off enough today! ;)
