Increase Your Traffic and Google Ranking with Social Bookmarking
A couple days ago I finished reading Search Engine Myths Exposed. It was an excellent and informative read. Being relatively new to the game of SEO and seriously doing things to make money online I had fallen prey to the “gurus” and what they had to say about the search engines.
If you think it’s hard to rank in the search engines, that duplicate content will kill you or even you have to maintain fresh content to stay at the top of google I would seriously take a look at Search Engine Myths Exposed. It’s free and I guarantee you’ll learn something.
The one thing I learned above and beyond anything else is links are KEY. You can just about out do your competition in any area if you have lots of links pointing to your site. They don’t even have to be sites related to your site. This is where social bookmarking comes in.
Not only will you increase your google ranking with social bookmarking but you will start to see an increase in your traffic.
Last night I was rereading Black Book Authority. You know I wrote the Wahm Web 2.0 Resource guide, but then never really did anything with it. I decided to go back to “The Black Book” and follow their instructions for how to get a buzz around your linkbait.
I followed their instructions and already today I have over double the number of views on that piece as I usually do. It all came fromsocial bookmarking. Not only did I get traffic to the piece, but I am sure it will begin to come up in the google rankings because it is getting more and more links to it.
This works with posts, squidoo lenses, hub pages, websites anything you want to show up in google. It’s easy, although it can take some time, but it is well worth it if you are trying to increase your traffic and google ranking.
I can’t encourage you enough to read Search Engine Myths Exposed and to start using social bookmarking sites. To get you started here are two blog posts listing social bookmarking sites.
Dulce Negosyante’s Top 100 Social Networking Sites by Alexa rating and Google page rank and Arsenal Marketing’s List of Social Sites ~ 145 sites listed by google page rank.
That should get you started. Read Search Engine Myths Exposed to find out how many links you should get every day. You will be surprised by the number I think!
Have a great day, get reading and linking!

Hi, I did not read this post, but I have qwerstion on bookmarking.
You gave out a list of bookmarks and blueprint for joining and posting to 10 a day for 5 days. I read you do not do bookmarking, because it does not pay off so well for you. Why do you then promote it was being a viable way of getting good link.
Your front page does give a lost list of information about linking. I will be spending some time there.
thanks for the information.

HI Kathlene,
fair question ~ if you check the date on this post you will see it was written over a year and a half ago. At the time bookmarking WAS worth the time and effort it took for me. Now I have other tools that are easier (and cost a little bit) that I use instead.
I also mentioned in a recent post that there are tons of ways to link and you should pick something that you don’t hate. I HATE bookmarking ~ so I don’t end up doing it. But that doesn’t mean you or someone else won’t LOVE bookmarking, so of course I’m providing information on ALL the options so you can make an educated decision on what works best for YOU.
Because, everybody doesn’t have to do it EXACTLY as I do it.

Hi Jackie – just FYI and for anyone else who reads this blog post, the eBook ‘Search Engine Myths Exposed’ is no longer available for download.
I’m going to go cry in a corner.
