Internet Marketing for Mommies

Here it is barely 6am. I’ve been up since 4 when Hanna woke up. She went back to sleep but then the dog started barking, and then the idea fairy showed up.
Do you all know the idea fairy? The little fairy that shows up with remarkable ideas at the most inopportune times; like at 4am, or when you’re in the shower, or on the highway, you get what I mean?
So the idea fairy showed up at 4 am. Yesterday I told you about Internet Marketing Secrets newest issue. I listened to the podcast and it was quite remarkable. Filled with information and quality at that. I learned a few things I will be putting into practice immediately.
The podcast was great, and with it you get a little 10 page report by Colin McDougall. It was a report on whether web 2.0 was a waste of time or not, but in there he also talked about branding. I’ve talked to all about branding before, but his take on it was really quite amazing. I highly suggest you go get it and read it.
But here’s what I got out of it. Think about who you want to portray, then really get into that character. Think about what they would do, what they would like, how they learn. He provided tips about learning these things if you are not part of the group. This worked well for me since I am part of the group I want to market to. Here’s the important part, he says then tell stories. Tell stories from that person’s point of view. That will be easy as well, since I am that person.
Here’s where the idea fairy kicked in. I’ve decided to start an Internet Marketing for Mommies series. I am going to start with video and hopefully move to podcasting. In this series I am going to offer a “mommy tip”. Something useful to help with the kiddos while you’re working. I will also offer an “Internet Marketing tip” or information, depending on what hits me that day.
I’m really excited about it. I have changed the name of this blog to Internet Marketing for Mommies, and have even bought the Domain Name. (I was so excited when I finally stopped trying to sleep and came down to see if it was available at 5:30am.) 
This way it will be easy to continue right along with me when I finally get moved over to wordpress.org. I will just redirect the same domain! woo hoo.
I’m looking forward to working on this project, and of course it means learning a whole new skill set ~ video. However, last night I was rereading the Authority Black Book, dang, that’s an amazing ebook, and there are a lot of tutorials on using video and making good videos, so I think I will be able to work it out.
