Internet Marketing Success ~ Know Your Strengths and What You Love

Mar 12

As with any endeavor your network marketing success is going to hinge on your ability to stick with it. I know a lot of beginning internet marketers (and long time marketers as well) who jump from thing to thing ~ whether it’s the next best thing, or it just sounds better than what they are doing.

I used to think this was because people are looking for the quick fix, an easy way to make money. However, yesterday I was talking with a friend and she told me about a marketing method I was unfamiliar with. The more we talked and the more I learned about this method the more excited I got.

However, in the back of my mind I had this little nagging voice ~ here you go again, jumping to something else, again.

I thought about it for a while and realized all this time, this jumping around from one thing to the next I’ve been looking for my BEST THING (and a little of the next best thing) ;) When I say my best thing I mean something that fits what I love, what I’m good at, and makes me look forward to taking my 30 second commute to my computer in the morning.

I admit I’ve tried quite a few things to make money online. Some have been successful, some not so much. All have been at least partially what I have been searching for, but none have been exactly it. That’s why I keep looking. All of this is going on at a subconscious level mind you ~ well until now.

Today my suggestion for you is this: figure out what you are good at, what you like, what you enjoy doing. Then look for a marketing method that matches that. The closer the method you choose matches your likes and abilities the easier it’s going to be to stick with it for the long haul.

If you hate to write, find it difficult, you are not likely to find writing a blog or article marketing a long term fit for you. Even if you could force it out every day ~ the energy coming through would show it is not something you love. Furthermore, you have the privilege of working from home, why would you want to make yourself miserable?

There are plenty of ways to make money without having to write. Find one of those ways and see if it isn’t a better match.

Before Hanna was born I worked in Mental Health. I was the manager of a crisis home for adults with mental illness. I was also in charge of creating a curriculum for our psycho social program. (Learning activities we conducted in the house). I did not really like being the manager, but I LOVED creating the curriculum. Once the curriculum was planned I ran into another problem ~ being the manager I had to follow the new curriculum. That was not much to my liking either.

I’m a developer kind of person. I love to write and create. That’s why blogging has been so great for me, I love the whole creating process.

I am also looking for passive income from my work at home endeavors. I’m finding this is going to be more difficult than I imagined just from blogging. Yes, I know people do it, but my name is not Yaro Starak. I had never really thought about it before, but this new realization pushes me toward developing my own products. I get to develop and create, and then move on to the next project that needs to be created and developed.

I’ve been working on my first ebook, I have developed it into “learning modules” so people could really take one chunk at a time, do what needed to be done and then move on to the next chunk. This idea works even better when put together with the marketing method I was introduced to yesterday.

Fixed Term Membership. This is basically selling my ebook as a 12 week course and people pay a monthly fee to received the weekly emails. This is even better for both me and the reader. For me this gives me an ongoing monthly income. It’s not difficult to set up. For the reader it gives them small pieces of information to act on, and a week to get it done. There’s no pressure or ability to jump ahead or get more done than just that one piece. It allows you to really learn each piece of the puzzle, and then be able to put them together, not only this time ~ but repeatedly!

This marketing model truly fits all the things I LOVE and am good at. I think I have finally found something that will allow me to stop searching and just DO IT!

What are your likes, dislikes, what internet marketing strategy do you think matches them? Is it a perfect match, or only some pieces matching? The more perfect the match between what you love and your chosen marketing model the more likely you will be able to stick with it for the long haul.

Does this make sense to you? What do you love? How does that match up with a marketing model? I’d love to hear what you think, leave me a comment below. :)
