Keeping Track of Your Goals
Jan 07
I just came across a VERY cool tool. It’s free, easy and fun. If you have figured out the specific daily actions you need to take to make your business move forward (you have figured those out right?) this is going to be fun.
Go to Joe’s Goals.
Sign up for an account
Add your daily money making actions as goals. Just click “add a goal” and write it in.
Then when you complete your daily actions you go back and click the box for that goal on that day. It will make a checkmark in the box. ( if you do something more than once that day (like 2 articles instead of 1) you can put more than one check in each box. It will count up the things you did each day and give you a number.
You can then over time download a chart of how you’ve done. This will give you an overview of the actions you are or are not taking that you’ve decided need to be done regularly. If you’re not seeing the progress you would like to see in your business I imagine this chart will be very eye opening.
Here’s my goal list at Joe’s Goals.
I do this on my day planner but it’s going to be fun to see over time the things I’m doing/not doing and the effect on my business. You can also add things you don’t want to do, if you fess up that you did them it will take points off of your day.
I just started playing with this so I went back and pulled in answers from my calendar but I look forward to using this regularly in the future.
I’d love to hear what you think of Joe’s Goals and if it helps you to stay on track with YOUR goals!
oh ~ one more thing. If you left click on the little check mark icon next to the address on the address bar and drag it to the favorites bar it will be right there and you can just click on the checkmark to go right to your goals. Very handy!

That’s my “work day” load ~ after Hanna goes to bed I play around on forums/twitter/facebook throughout the evening ~ but I try to make sure I do focused posting during those 30 minutes. (reading forums is NOT a money making activity lol ~ it’s just fun during your free time)

I admire your restraint with ONLY 30 mins in forums. lol

Thanks for the posting! Joe’s Goals actually makes it fun to organize your life.
Staying focused – whew – that’s a big question for most people, as least the ones I have talked to. In my beginning efforts online – after being overtaken with the flashing buttons, , my next big issue was trying to stay focused. It took very strict energy for me to get myself to stop checking my emails, clicking here, there, and everywhere, and just make a daily plan. Now that I do have a plan, I am actually getting somewhere.

Like Ruth, I love these types of things. Unfortunately, I spend entirely too much time tracking stats and not enough time building new sites!
Oh this does look like fun! Thanks for the link. I am really obsessed with stuff like this as long as it is clear and easy to see everything at once. This one looks like it does the job.
