When I first quit my job and started working at home full time one of the things I missed more than anything was the interaction with my peers. I worked with some people I really liked and I used to get to talk and interact with other people for 8 hours of my day.
They were people who understood what I was doing (or trying to do) they could relate to the problems I was having, they were there if I needed to vent about things that were going on at the job.
When I started working from home I lost all of that. It was really easy to feel alone and isolated. That is especially true since I live in the middle of no where, and at the time didn’t know any of my neighbors.
Add on top of that being a first time parent to a wonderful infant who literally screamed 16 hours a day. I thought I would lose my mind, and still knew I had to make this work if I wanted to be able to stay home.
I really needed some interaction!
I made my way to some IM forums ~ you know the big ones every knows about. The Warrior Forum was my first stop. HOLY WOW. It’s huge and as a beginner I felt like if I accidentally asked the “wrong” thing people would be screaming at me, calling me stupid, and I’d feel like an idiot. I found it hard to stay focused on anything because everyone had the latest and greatest way to get rich from online marketing.
I’d get started with one strategy and then read someone say that was the dumbest thing you could ever do, and if you REALLY want to make money you should do “this”, whatever this of the day happened to be. I wasted a lot of time, and lost a lot of focus spending too much time there.
My next stop was Wealthy Affiliate. It was a little friendlier, and yet I still couldn’t seem to get clarity, or answers when I needed them. It seemed a little advanced for where I was at, so I found myself wasting time, and I was literally paying for it this time.
I pretty much stopped hanging out in forums after that. I started following blogs and then of course Myspace happened, where I was able to find some people to talk to ~ although they were not internet marketers, at least I had some other moms to talk to about what I was going through. Then of course Twitter popped up.
As my business moved to a different level I again found myself wishing I had people I could bounce ideas off of, get an idea if it was an idea worth following. I needed and wanted people who could help me brainstorm and understood where I was coming from and what I was talking about. It was then I joined Lynn Terry’s forum. This forum is really great. I met a lot of great people, found some awesome people to work with, and did find some of the things I was looking for. There were some things that didn’t feel “quite right” and I have since left Lynn’s forum.
What would my readers think?
Everywhere I go I think about my readers, and how they would feel about different things. The Elite forum was good, but it is geared more toward people who already have some sort of business established.
I want to create a community for new people. People who aren’t quite sure what’s right for them ~ whether they should build an authority blog, or micro niche sites. I want to create a community where people could come and feel comfortable asking the most basic of questions without fear or concern of the community reaction. I also want to create a community that will help you get clear on where to get started, and help you formulate a plan of action, and then have accountability available to you if you want it to help you stay on track for what’s right for you!
I want a community that is small enough that everyone knows you and people are willing to help each other out because we all know one another.
Enter the KISS Club ~ Keep It Simple So… (you can do what it is you need to do) Club. A club of like minded internet marketers who are looking for friendship, support and a place where they can get clear and take action in their business. A forum for undaunted action takers who are ready to move themselves and their business to the next level.
Does this sound like something you’re looking for?
If it is I’m so glad!! Check out the KISS Club page, sign up and join us!
The charter membership dues are very low because I’m counting on the early members to help me create this community ~ to bring my vision for this community to fruition, to make it not only my community, but yours as well.
If you join as a charter member your dues will stay the same as long as you remain a member. As we get the club fleshed out and filled up, active and fun, membership dues will go up for new people.
Ready to be a KISS Club Charter Member??

This sounds like very interesting, IM is just too complex at first to go it alone. Thanks
This sounds like a wonderful idea. I am a member of Lynn’s elite forum too and am often wondering why I stay there when I am not getting the help I want for my business in the way that I need. I would like a smaller community that I can grow with.
I will be jumping right over to see about signing up here too!
thanks!

“The charter membership dues are very low because I’m counting on the early members to help me create this community ”
An affiliate program could help greatly with this, and the fact that it would be such a small commission should really be an issue for most.
Just a thought.

And why does it keep using my real name on the comments when I specifically want to use Mommy Reporter so I can link up my blog… sigh, this is frustrating.

Wow! This will be great I’m sure — It is so needed! People run from one “shiny object” to the next never getting anything done. They need to get off all the “guru’s” mailing lists and get on board here. Things didn’t start happening for me online until I got a partner — that made all the difference in the world. Hopefully people will be able to find like minded people here and start to partner up. IM is just too complex at first to go it alone.
I still struggle with running to the shiny objects. I canceled at Warrior and Wealthy Affiliate and have decided to pick something and just stick with it! Those forums are terrible for convincing me that there are new things round the bend that will make me money.

I completely agree with Katherine, that’s exactly what I have found too. It’s all good until the people you are trusting for advice start sending out affiliate promotions for the next shiny thing.
As Tranque said, “People run from one “shiny object” to the next never getting anything done.” Have I ever been there, done that! I don’t want to count the number of times. Spending so much money in the process.
Simple? A welcome change from the Internet Marketing norm!

Hi everyone,
Just a heads up. There are some technical difficulties going on with the new community. If you’ve joined please send me an email if you have any trouble logging in. I’m working on it ~ so please be patient.
i hope you all the success jacki
Jackie – this is wonderful! I’m canceling my subscription to WA and joining right now!
I joined up over there mainly because I figured ‘everybody’ did, and the price was going up so high, I didn’t want to be stuck paying $75 when I could pay $39 – but I find that in order to learn the ropes over there, I was having to spend way too much time on the site. Time I just don’t have.
I’m so looking forward to keeping it simple!
