Now you have some friends and you are connecting with them, let’s look at a few more ways to deepen the relationship with your myspace friends.
Messaging:
Messaging can be a very powerful element to vibrational marketing on myspace. When someone agrees to be your friend they also agree to allow you to send them messages. The previously mentioned software also allows you to send out a message to 50 of your friends for free. (more if you purchase the software). How I usually use the messaging function is to send a message along with a friend request. (which you can do with the click of a box). I let the person know who I am, what my page is all about and why I am looking to them to be my friend. (This is another reason it is good to have single topic pages). I also usually send a poem, quote or my ‘Wisdom of the Secret’ video within the message. Something that is uplifting and will make me stand out to them a little more than just an nondescript friend request.
This usually leads to many more click throughs, returned messages, and comments than a friend request alone. In fact if I put a question in my message, or even as the title, for example, ‘are you using LOA’?? I know they are using LOA because I have chosen people that have mentioned LOA in their profile. I get so many responses in terms of messages and comments and then I am able to get to know them better and continue a conversation. That conversation frequently leads to friendship and sometimes partnership.
You can also use the messaging feature as a stand alone component. You may have something going on in your life or on your myspace page that you want to let your friends know about. Go ahead and message them. Just don’t spam people about your business or service. Myspace recently added a ‘spam’ button to the messaging area. I have used messaging to ask questions of friends, to get clarity about something on their page, to alert my network to a new page I have started, let them know about a particularly great blog post. Just about anything that connects you and the other person is a great thing to send in a message. This is also a great way to begin a conversation. The more people know you, the more they have the chance to like you and trust you, and hopefully that may lead to partnership as well.
Blog:
Each and every person that opens an account with myspace receives a complimentary blog. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to regularly blog. This is the best way for people to get to know you. You will find once you’ve been blogging for a while people will subscribe to your blog. This means they will be notified each and every time you make a post. If you have another blog at wordpress or some other blogging platform you can use your myspace blog as a teaser to lead them to your other blog. Post something at your myspace blog about the topic of your latest post and provide a link to the blogpost.
Your blog can be about anything. Your posts can be short, or long, poems, text, pictures. It’s up to you. But be consistent. You will become well known within your circle if you blog consistently. Just this week I received a comment on my blog. This person had been looking for a poem for a long time. I happened to have posted the same poem in my blog a while back. She was talking to an ‘unnamed’ myspacer and was referred to my blog by that person to find what she was looking for. How great is that!! Not only did she get what she was looking for I got a new reader.
You have a lot of power to provide helpful information through your blog. You also have the power to let others see your authentic self. I can’t tell you how important it is for others to see our authentic selves. This also allows others to learn from the example of your life.
I have a blog on each of my pages and I try to post to each of them a minimum of once a week. Even if I’m feeling lazy I find a quote that touches me, or use an article I have written as my blog post. Blogging gives people another way to access the real you and by doing so become clearer on whether you are a vibrational match to them.
Everyone ends their blogs differently. I consider each entry an article unto itself. So I usually say ‘until next time’, or ‘remember you are remarkable’, then I sign my name and a hot link to my PI page or something else I am currently promoting. If I’m trying to get more friends to another myspace page I may say something about the particulars of that page such as: join the abundance revolution and then link to my abundance page. Generally I stick to Have fun no matter what or feel good no matter what, then link to PI. (which is my homebase on the web)
Doing this also helps the ranking, of the linked site in the search engines by having a link to my site from a highly ranked site. Just as it does when you have a link at the bottom of a forum post.
As you can see there are many ways you can connect with people at myspace. There is one more piece of the puzzle that can be very powerful, look forward to the next post for that.
