Need Help Getting Started Blogging?

Just  a couple quick things today.

I can’t blog/make money writing about that!

If you think you can’t blog about something check out this site and try to tell me that again.

Need help getting your blog started?

I just wanted to let you all know that I am making myself available to help you get over the technical and mental blocks that blogging sometimes brings. I’m offering some services to help get you started, as well as some to help you get over the hump and on the right track if you’ve already started blogging.

You can see all of my blogging services here.

If there’s something you need help with but don’t see it on the list just shoot me an email and I’ll see what I can do. I made the list based on some of the emails I’ve received asking for help, but I’m sure I spaced something. :)

Are you taking action?

How’s your topic choice and blog plan coming? The week’s running out. A new challenge will be up on Sunday! Have fun and get started!

Oh, one other thing I wanted to talk about today.

One of the things I particularly love about this type of blogging is you get to SHARE!!! I mean that’s the whole point of it. Where it can be scary/not so smart to share niche blogs because someone may steal your keywords, authority blogs are MEANT to be shared and enjoyed by everyone.

Make sure you use your blog in the url field of any comments you make so we can all check out each others blogs. Oh, and if you like someone’s blog go ahead and give it a tweet/stumble/bookmark  ~ and leave them a comment and let them know.

We have a great community here and now we will be able to support one another and have some fun! This can be a great place to connect with others blogging in your niche ~ maybe for guest posts or ad swaps in the future, so start connecting now!

Ok that’s it for today ~ short and sweet. Look at that under 400 words. Stay tuned tomorrow for another blogging tutorial post.

The question was about the link in the url field of the comments opening in a new page. That has to be done in the code.

  4. Dennis Edell says:

What changing code? If you’re using the WP admin for posting, and inserting links through the tool bar, it’s a simple pull down menu.

  5. Jackie says:

Thanks Ken, I know the code it’s a matter of going into the theme and changing the code to get the comments to do that though. :)

  6. Ken says:

Ooops! The HTML converted into links in the comment.

The difference in the link is by adding

    (space)target=”_blank”(space)

for example just after the quotation mark ending the URL of the site, and before the >.

    Hi Jackie!
I enjoy reading your friendly, helpful, encouraging, informative posts; I always learn something.
Hoping to help some by giving back, you may have already solved the same page problem, but the HTML code for getting a link to open on a different page would be like these examples:

    Yahoo Home

    a new window

    My link text

    Hi Jackie,

Thanks for a good post blogging. If say i have blog already under bluehost, can i create another blog under the same hosting with a different domain name. That mean can i have 2 blog under on hosting. Need your advice

    • Hey James,

I’ll see if I can help out here while Jackie deals with poop!

If Bluehost is anything like Hostgator all you have to do, after you get your new domain name, is do an Add-On Domain. Should be right in your cPanel. With Hostgator I can have unlimited (I believe) add-on domains under my account.

      Hope that helps.

  12. This is my only ME blog – about me, my family, our food and living in Peru. I get about 30 visits a day, partly people who know me, partly searches for recipes or other information about Peru.

  13. Nancy from Cat Supplies says:

Amazing what you can stumble across on the web. Looks like another page to consume a lot of time browsing.

  14. Jackie says:

Good point. I usually follow links from my email notifications and didn’t realize they were opening on the same page. I’ll see if I can figure out how to change that. Thanks for the heads up. :)

  15. Carey says:

I’ve got kind of a poop fetish so that site got me kind of excited. lol
    Just kidding by the way.

Jackie, one thing you might consider doing is having the url’s from the comments field open up in a new window. I like to click on people’s links and see what they have but I have to hit the back button to get back to your site.

I’m all for having links open up in the same window when it’s an affiliate link driving someone to an offer, but that’s not the case in the comment field I wouldn’t think.

Keep up the great work. I always enjoy reading your posts!

  18. Jackie says:

Yeah me either, but it totally helped me figure out what was going on when my kiddo had bright green poop this morning. :) I know, I know… tmi. Just goes to show one man’s poop is another man’s treasure. :)

  19. Tom from Market Samurai Tutorial says:

I can’t believe that they actually created a website on poop and stories about poop! I couldn’t think of anything worse to write about.

  20. Jackie says:

    Dang Dennis ~

I hear you. I’ll install it later today.

  21. Dennis Edell says:
