Niche Widget Review ~ Is Niche Widget Worth the Space in Your Sidebar?

If you are looking for another way to monetize your site take a look at Niche Widget. Niche Widget is a really interesting concept. It’s basically a widget that scrolls through a variety of products. When people purchase through your widget you get paid.

How much you get paid depends on what level you enroll in at Niche Widget. You can choose from the Silver, Gold and Platinum and Diamond levels. The difference between the levels is the monthly fee and how much commission your receive from each product sold.

You can do this completely free on the Silver level ~ you will only receive 50% of the commission but there are no up front fees. You can receive 100% commissions on the higher levels which require a monthly fee. However, I was quite surprised at how low the monthly fee is.

Once you have your membership level you can begin to make widgets. Making widgets if very simple. In fact all you really have to do is choose the topic you would like for the products displayed. There is an emphasis on internet marketing and just about every aspect of internet marketing ~ however, there is a fairly large selection of niche products as well.

Once you choose the area of products you would like displayed you can decide on the size and shape of the widget and the text within. All that’s left is to get the code and put it on your site.

Niche Widget is still very much in Beta, and there have been some glitches they seem to have resolved. At this time it appears they only have the black widget available ~ which does NOT blend in with many sites, however, they seem to be upgrading the product continually and that will probably change soon.

I’m testing the widget on this blog ~ my only real concern is I have not tried each and every product offered in the widget. I truly like to offer products to my readers I have personal experience with so I know they are worth you spending your hard earned money on. If you have the same concern the Niche Widget may not be for you. I will keep it up for a while and see how it does. I will try to work my way through the products and make sure they are all quality products.

I have replaced the Blog Rush widget with this widget. I will see how it goes for a while. I would like to receive any product feedback from readers who buy products through the widget while I work my way through the products.

Overall, once the ability to change colors of the widget is available, I think this will be another good way to monetize your blog or websites. The code is done in a way that doesn’t work at Squidoo which is a bit of a bummer, but other than that I have been able to easily put them anywhere I have wanted them.

I’d say Niche Widget is worth a try. It’s free to get started, you can always upgrade when commissions start coming in. If you have questions about Niche Widget there will be an information call on Wednesday Feb 27 at 7:45p EST. Here’s the number ~1-218-486-1300 / Bridge: 983186

The last thing I’d like to share about Niche Widget is from the most recent email I’ve received. Here it is:

David Perdew (owner of Niche Widget) is doing something quite remarkable.

During the Niche Widget Grand Opening Sale that starts soon,
my PayPal address will be changed to the water4ghana.org
PayPal address. The money will not even come to me. It’s
going straight into the Water4ghana account. 100% of all my
sales up to $30,000 will be donated directly to
water4ghana.org.

That much money could bring purified, clean water to more
than 60,000 people and completely change their lives. Having
an impact like that could completely change our lives too.

Go to http://www.water4ghana.org and check out what he’s
doing.

That seems pretty amazing to me! So go on over Niche Widget, make yourself some money and support a great charity too!

Thank you for a great post Jackie. I know this is a slightly aged post and was wondering if you still recommend, and or use this widget?
