Replacing a hard drive
Did you know just how much junk gets kept on a hard drive? Do you know how much stuff you need gets kept on your hard drive that you forget about until after the hard drive’s been cleaned and uninstalled?
Yep, it’s a lot and you don’t know what you’re missing until the new hard drive is all installed and you try to do something.
So that’s my day! How’s your day going?
I’ve been busy writing web copy today. I write a lot of things and web copy is one of the most interesting things. There’s a lot more to web copy than just the words.
If you want your website to really ’speak’ to the reader you need to make sure you are speaking to them.
To speak to your reader you need to know who they are. Do you know who your [tag-tec]target market[/tag-tec] is? Do you know who your perfect customer is? Do you know the language they speak? Do you know what their problems/concerns are and how to answer them? If you don’t know the answer to these questions I seriously suggest you figure it out before you start writing your web copy. Here’s a great book to help you figure out how to Attract Your Perfect Customers
If you write your website about you, who you are, what you do instead of writing your [tag-tec]web copy[/tag-tec] for your reader you will be losing out. If your reader gets to your website and you are talking to them about what they need, how you can help they will resonate with you.
It’s a very subtle distinction, but when you get to a site that pulls you in and makes you think, oh yeah that’s me, that’s a site that sells.
Is your site pulling people in? Are you calling their name? If not why not look and see what you can do to tweak it a little?
I will be posting more about how to write good web copy, so stay tuned if you are trying to write an amazing website.
