I installed CommentLuv and will run it for a while. I think the idea behind that plugin is great, the readers only have to know about the enabled CommentLuv plugin, when they come to your site.

If you think quality comments are important then why not write them? This person thought he was writing a quality comment but he’s actually added nothing but his own link to the conversation.

I have no technique Make sure you have akismet running. I then have comments that aren’t caught in akismet come to my email where I look at them and delete/publish depending on the quality. I also have comments set to not publish comments until someone has 1 published comment. That way first time commentors don’t get published, it’s a trade off ~ community vs. spam. But that’s what I’ve come up with so far.
