Recently I have been finding all kinds of new tools and resources for Squidoo. I hadn’t seen a lot of these before, so I thought maybe you might not have either. These are some cool Squidoo Tools and resources you will find helpful, so take a look.
SquidUtils: This is a great site where you will find tons of tools to help you keep track of your lenses, get backlinks easier and make money with your Squidoo Lenses. Let’s take a look at what they offer.
Advanced Toolbar: This is a great feature. All you have to do is put your lensmaster name in and up pops a list of your lenses. From this toolbar you can do some amazing things with the click of a button. You can get stats, and edit just like the regular dashboard. This toolbar takes it much farther though. You can also get the information for your lens including the url in html and bbCode. You can ping your lens from here with one click (just make sure you’ve recently updated). You can Lensroll your lens (add it to one of your other lenses), bookmark with Add This, and submit your lens to lensroll.com (which we will get to in a minute).
This toolbar will also help you manage your groups.
Amazon Product Links: If you are an affiliate for Amazon you can create product links here to put in your lenses. You know the boxes Amazon will create for you, with the product, the price and a link to buy? You know, the ones that are done in Iframes so you can’t use them on Squidoo? Well this utility will make the same type of box, but it will be in a language that Squidoo allows. These are great to add to text/write modules. Nice to provide a quick link to a product you are discussing right next to it.
Lensmaster RSS Feed: If you would like to have all your lenses listed in RSS format on your lens, you can quickly create that RSS feed with this utility. This would be great if you have different accounts and have specific related topics for each account. It allows people to get to other related lenses that are YOURS!
Amazon RSS Feed: If you are an associate with Amazon you can create an RSS feed for specific products or categories, that will be tagged with your affiliate ID. You can choose from 4 different types of RSS feed including text and images.
Search for Squidoo Lenses or Squidoo Groups: This is an advanced search, which should provide you with a good match for what you are looking for.
Those are the big things that SquidUtils offers. It is a great site, if you use it and love it, try to give them a donation. They work hard to provide these free Squidoo Tools.
Squidoo Statistics: If you are a lover of stats, you are in luck. Squidoo has put together a new statistics tool. Squidaholic. WOW, lots of new information about your lenses. You can find out so much about your lens just by putting the URL in the space provided and then clicking GO GO GO. In addition to information it allows you to submit your lens to a few places if you haven’t already, including Digg, StumbleUpon and Delicious.
Squidaholic will also provide you with a list of popular blogs on the topic of your lens. This is great because you can stop by, read the related post and leave a comment with a link to your lens. This will help you drive traffic to your lens, and it will also help you build your backlinks for better placement in search engines and you didn’t have to go looking for the blogs. It provides the most recent blog posts so you could go back a couple times and find new posts to comment on.
The last thing Squidaholic will do for you is post the most searched terms on google. These might be very good ideas for lenses if you are at a loss for ideas.
Backlinks for Squidoo Lenses: We’ve already discussed a couple of ways to get backlinks in this article. You can find blog posts to comment on at Squidaholic.
You can submit your lens to some of the Squidoo Lens Directories, and here are a few.
Ping your lenses!
Pinging your Squidoo lenses will let directories know you have recently updated. It will also allow your RSS feed to go to a variety of directories. There are quite a few places you can ping now. Here a few. Don’t ping to all of them. Choose your favorite and use it.
Feedshark ~ this is the one I use.

You can, but it won’t be as effective. Since this post was written a new tool has been developed. It’s called the poster ad at Squidutils. Here’s a post on how to use it: http://www.squidoochristmascash.com/how-to-create-a-poster-ad-at-squidutils/
Hi Jackie,
Can we use the Amazon Products Links instead of the way your tutorials showed, to create the Big Amazon box?
I created a lens detailing many tools and addons for your lenses. I built it about a 1 1/2 years ago and continue to update it regularly. It includes many that aren’t mentiond above, but also highlights the wonderful tools at SquidUtils.com
Here’s the lens: http://www.squidoo.com/great-squidoo-resources
Hi there Susanne from Squidoomagic, thanks for mentioning my blog
You can ping your lenses from SquidUtils as well – my favourite Squidoo tool.
Hi Jackie Lee,
I came across both those tools and think theFluffaNutta has done a great job with them.
I haven’t tried the Amazon tools, but I’ve been using the other tools regularly. In fact, this morning I added the RSS feed for my lenses from SquidUtils to my profile page on my new Squidoo Marketing social networking site.
I’ll be making use of those tools very often.
While I’m here, I wanted to thank you for introducing me to PotPieGirl.com – it’s a great blog and Jennifer’s very nice and helpful. Thanks.
Act on your dream!
JD

- I am dutch, sorry for my broken english
-
I just came across this post. It seems to be very interesting. I recently got into Internet marketing and I’m now looking for helpful resources. After reading some of the dutch blogs (which didn’t provide the kind of information I am looking for), I started reading this english blog.
I want to read some of the older posts.
Can I still comment on the older posts and ask questions?
I can’t really comment on this post..
Because I have never used Squidoo! It isn’t very populair in Holland.
Daan.
