This Mama’s Hit a Roadblock

Apr 22

I’ve been blogging for a while now, and usually blog posts just flow right out. I love to write and I love providing my readers with useful information. It’s usually a no brainer, and I have  yet to run out of topics to talk to you all about.

Until this week.

I last posted last Wednesday. Wow, almost a whole week ago. I think that’s the longest I have ever gone without posting on this blog. :(

Here’s what I’ve run into lately, and maybe by rambling here I will help myself solve my problem, and maybe help you too.

I’ve come to see that the smaller you make your “niche” the easier (and harder) it makes things.  When I used to do network marketing I read a lot of Kim Klaver’s stuff. It made perfect sense to me.  Her basic philosophy is to “call” a specific person’s name.  In other words, focus on a particular person, generally someone who is the “same” as you, so you can share your story and it will resonate with others, in effect, calling their name.

I have been giving this some thought, and trying to think about who’s name I am calling.

I’ve been thinking about what is working and what is NOT working in my marketing.  This has helped me to determine just what I should be focusing on. (why keep doing things that aren’t working? eh?)

In making these decisions I have some other decisions to make, and that’s where my problem with writing blog posts comes in.

I’ve decided to primarily if not exclusively focus on Squidoo, and helping other moms learn how to master squidoo so they can make some money and be able to stay home with their kids.

Squidoo is where 90 percent of my monthly income comes from (in one way or another). I love it. It’s fun. It’s free. It’s easy. It’s not time consuming (unless you get squidicted ~ like me).

It seems like common sense to make Squidoo my focus.

With that said, I wonder if my readers ONLY want to hear about Squidoo.

Should I start posting only about Squidoo to keep with my focus or continue to discuss internet marketing in general?

This question has kept my brain perplexed over the last week, and now I think I will throw the question out to you. You are the reason I blog after all, to help you out, and assist you in making money.

What do you want? Do you want to learn all you can to build a Squidoo Empire? Or would you rather learn a little about everything here at the home of Internet Marketing for mommies?

Let me give you just a little more information before you make your decision. Starting in May I will be offering a free newsletter that will be all about Squidoo. It will include a free 7 part course for the beginning lensmaster.  It will take you by the hand and show you step by step exactly how to build your first lens so you can earn affiliate commission. I will continue to provide more and more advanced techniques for lensmasters to learn how to make more and more money from Squidoo.

With that information . . . Let me have it!

Please let me know in the comment section the direction you’d like to see Internet Marketing for Mommies go in.  All Squidoo All the Time or General Internet Marketing ~ a touch of everything.

I look forward to hearing from you and providing you with the information YOU need!

  1. I love hearing about your squidiction! Sorry, I finally got around to reading this.
My teen just moved back in after living with her Dad for 2 years. I have an 8 year old too and we are re- adjusting.
Being able to hop on to Squidoo is like my old forum days where I could vent and rant as I saw fit. I can’t believe that I can actually make money doing this!!
I am becoming more and more familiar with Squidoo because of the tips you provide. I think it’s important for us Mom’s to have a back up in this economy- even though things are going to start getting better, a lot has been piling up and will need to be paid eventually. Then there’s Christmas to consider.
Love the Christmas Cash Squidoo series. Don’t stop!

  2. I say if squidoo is where your heart is — go for it!

And just fyi, must have been that kind of week ’cause I’ve been ‘reconsidering my options’ too ;-)

    Appreciate you!

  3. I’m visiting for the first time. Hit upon your blog via Mom Bloggers Club. This is interesting stuff. Do you really get 90% of your income from squidoo? Frankly, its the first time I read about this. And sorry, I am not questioning your statement, just expressing that I find this amazing and feel, boy! I’ve missed so much! :)
But, I am a new mommy and have been busy getting familiar. So…
I’d like to read more about squidoo and internet marketing, in general.
Please visit my blog and provide feedback. Would appreciate that! All the best.
