Using PLR to Find A Niche and Keywords
Sometimes finding an idea for a new niche site can be tough. Sometimes finding content for a random niche can be REALLY tough.
I have been trying to build a niche site a week this year. Here we are 4 months in and some weeks it’s tougher than others to find a topic. One week I was at a loss for even where to begin, so I started looking through the PLR on my computer to see if it gave me any ideas.
Ideas? You betcha. I have a LOT of PLR on my computer, and have only recently started using it so it’s been hanging around collecting dust for a while now.
To start some brainstorming I go through and see the subject of the plr pack. I go to the google keyword tool and start looking through it for some good keywords to use. I really dig into the niche to find some keywords that have some decent search volume and minimal competition.
Once I find some good keywords I already have content ready to be changed to fit my keywords and go on my site. Usually plr packs come in 10 or 25 articles, which gives me plenty of extra articles to use for article marketing. I use unique article wizard, so they are all turned into unique articles through that process. If you are going to use EzineArticles.com make sure you rewrite the articles before you submit them.
A while back I wanted to start a niche blog like Amy teaches over at The Niche Blogger. I wanted to do something on food, but didn’t really know what. I was getting Yummy PLR at the time and got my PLR pack for the month and went through and did some research on the pack and found keywords that worked perfectly for her method. I was able to get more than half of the content she recommends for niche blogs from that one plr pack. That saved me a ton of time and now I have a great niche blog running. 
Thanks to Amy I now have not only a site up and getting traffic but I’m building a list for that site, giving away more recipes I put together from yummy plr.
There is tons of niche plr out there, and it is a great way to begin researching a niche. Not every niche will pay off, and you may find some topics are really competitive, but it’s a great way to get started, and once you find the keywords you already have the content.
Let’s run through an example:
I found on my computer a plr pack on mobility scooters. OK?! Let’s give it a go. I stuck mobility scooters in the google keyword tool and found there were quite a few keywords with some decent search volume. Here’s some of what was there:
Search volume looks good but don’t know how competitive this is going to be yet. Let’s take a look:
Well that looks pretty dang good to me! I want to check one more little thing. Not only do we want to know how many other sites are competing for those keywords we want to know how tough to beat the sites at the top of the search results are going to be. So I turned on seoquake and ran the keyword through without quotes. (this way I get the actual sites people get when they search the term)
Looks pretty good. Some low PR sites, the high PR sites still don’t have the actual keywords in the title, and none of them have an insurmountable number of links pointing at them.
This is a DOABLE keyword. If I keep looking I’m sure I will find other related keywords that I could add to this site.
To monetize I could easily add the Bay RSS plugin to the site and pull in ebay auctions for scooters. If I ended up doing a post on a specific brand of scooter I could pull in auctions for only that brand.
If I didn’t have access to ebay I could grab products from amazon, and I’m sure there are other scooter providers that have an affiliate program.
So as you can see, just by checking out the plr on my computer, I was able to come up with a niche, some keywords and of course the cotent is there for me to tweak and add! A quick and easy way to find a new niche.

Depends on what you want/need. Niche in a box is good ~ although there is not a ton to choose from ~ the stuff that comes in the package is very helpful.
If you’re looking for food plr yummy plr can’t be beat.
For a wide range of products at really low price you can always go to Easy PLR.

Jackie, thanks for your reply regarding UAW! I was curious. To be honest, I’ve heard of the term PLR. I like what you are saying in this post, but I was wondering if you could clarify what a PLR is, or if you could direct me to another post with its explanation. Thank you!!

Hey Charlie,
PLR stands for Private label rights. It can be a variety of things, articles, products, reports etc. When something has private label rights it means it can be take and used as is, changed, renamed, reworked whatever, and the person can put their name on it and call it their own.
PLR has many many great uses ~ from a start on creating your own product, creating free reports, breaking it up and creating blog posts or articles. It’s basically a way you can get a head start ~ which is especially nice if you don’t know a lot about the topic.

hi jackie…many thanks for your reply regarding squidoo lens creation..I would like to ask about the PLR system..I am a newbie and I want to step into this world but don’t know exactly where to start..so I was wondering weather its a good idea to start with public domain stuff or with the PLR…I am also not quite sure weather I can use US public domain especially the federal government info. knowing that I am not an American….would you pls give me some advice regarding these issues…..thanks again

Public domain is totally different than PLR ~ it completely depends on what you’re trying to do. What are you trying to do?

That’s a good question! Actually, my aim is to come up with my own info product, i.e, an ebook, (since a website or a blog will require getting good traffic which is hard for me) and I want to do that through the easiest and fastest way, weather it is by using PLR, public domain or even getting a master resale rights and reselling it….but I am facing several options with trade-offs…let me put them in this way:
1. I could use public domain documents freely and come up with an ebook, but there is a lot of work involved in customizing it into non-tech language, and finding a niche is a MUST
2. I could also use PLR, which I guess are more customized and up to date than public domain docs, but then I’ll have to pay for them (although I’m receiving a free package but not sure about there quality! )and finding a niche is a must also.
3. Finally I can get ready ebooks with master resale rights, but again I have to pay to get them, and I don’t know where to get good quality books as the net is flooded with scam.
hence, which of these things do you think I should start with?

I think creating your own product is smart ~ but you’re still going to have to drive traffic.
How else will you get buyers?
Where and what you create will depend on the niche you’ve chosen and I will always recommend that you create a blog and build some sort of “following” in that niche to make it much easier to launch a product.
You can certainly use any of those approaches ~ just remember if you choose the MRR or PLR options you’ll need to change them and make them your own. You don’t want your name on a product that is exactly the same as someone else claiming it is theirs as well. (I’m not sure what the rules are with public domain content)
This whole next month the tutorial posts will be devoted to getting traffic.
My suggestion would be for you to pick a niche and start building a blog and a list. It’s much easier to sell to people who already know/like/trust you than to start from scratch for every product.
