Web Traffic ~ Are You Still Struggling To Attract Visitors?
IF you have a site of any kind that you are trying to make money from you have to have web traffic. That’s right website traffic. The nemesis to most marketers. The only thing that will allow you to make sales, money from adsense, clicks on whatever ~ web traffic.
When I started this site I was so green, I didn’t know anything about internet marketing. I did know I wanted to stay home with my daughter and make money while I did it.
As you can see if you check out the “get more traffic” category of this blog I have tried a little bit of everything to drive traffic to this site. The only I haven’t tried is PPC, because I don’t know the ins and outs and don’t want to lose money driving traffic.
Over the last year I still had a feeble showing of traffic to this site. I then discovered “social traffic” and some days I would see more than a thousand visitors to this site. The thing is, they stayed for about as long as it took to click the little stumble button again. They didn’t click ads, they didn’t buy products. It’s great to see the traffic spike, but really it was pretty worthless.
As you know a couple months ago I started a coaching program with Courtney Tuttle. After studying with Court it became clear exactly what I needed to do to drive not only plenty of traffic, but amazingly targeted qualified traffic to this site.
It’s interesting I recently looked around to see what other people were doing to drive traffic to their sites. I saw lists and lists of 25 ways, all the way up to 101 ways to drive web traffic to your site. What I know now, and I really wish I knew then it really only takes 2 ~ yes I said 2 ~ activities to drive all the traffic you need to your site.
Here it is. I’m giving up my secret, right here, right now.
- Write keyword targeted posts
- Point links at those targeted keyword posts
You can spend your time chasing social traffic, working day after day to get traffic that generally doesn’t convert or you can spend your time writing keyword targeted posts and then pointing links at those posts. Of course, you need to make sure you do your keyword research and make sure you are targeting keywords that have people searching for them, and are worth some money, if you are using adsense. If you don’t know how to do that, or what that means I’ve written a simple step by step guide to doing keyword research like the professionals.
If you target good keywords and spend your time building links to those posts you will find your keywords move to the top of the search engine rankings and you will get organic (free) web traffic right from the source ~ Google.
Not only will you get this qualified web traffic once, you will get it over and over and over again. Once you have done the work building links your site will generally stay put and keep sending you traffic for your targeted keyword. When that’s done you can move on to the next profitable keyword and start all over again, meanwhile you will continue to receive web traffic from the keywords you have already targeted.
This is the best method you can use for getting targeted, profitable web traffic to your site. Forget the social traffic, if you are trying to make money blogging, or trying to drive traffic to squidoo lenses, or hubpages, or any other site, focus on this internet marketing strategy and you will see a huge increase in your web traffic soon.

That’s about the size of it, unless you can establish yourself as an authority on a lucrative subject.
Hey Tiger Tom,
That’s actually how you establish yourself as an authority on a subject.

Hey!
Nice post. I really like your tips and obviously use them myself. I’m in the “free traffic” niche teaching this to many people who want to learn more about this subject. It’s easy, just stick to the fundamentals!
Keyword Targeting – High Search Volume, Low Competition.
Create Good Content – Keep Your Keywords in the Title, Post and Tags.
Ping Your Posts – Ping your posts with ping services.
Link Back To Your Posts – Write and submit an article or social bookmark your posts.
That’s a quick basic outline that works, over and over. You can take it a lot further though.
