The best forum to choose is one that you have plenty to talk about, and usually this happens when you’re an expert in the niche. keep this in mind when choosing a forum to participate in.

Like any other sites. Forums are full of interactions, and all we need is to gain trust and also reputation in these forums. Once we have the trust of other members as known expert in a certain area, they will definitely become one of our visitors to our website. Also a lot of people get’s curious on the links on our signature, especially if we are posting interesting replies and topics.

Forum posting is one of my favorite techniques. It cannot only drive traffic to a website but it can also improve your rankings in SERP. By putting link in the signature and using your keyword as anchor text on it.

Nicely written post. I would have to agree that you need to participate regularly for this to be of any use. If you’re not participating in the discussions and offering your own unique insights and support you’re not going to get noticed. The key is to start your own threads/discussions and offering something that the community has not yet heard or read.
