HI Rosie,

Putting a bigger button on your site is just a matter of finding a bigger button image you can use and then using some html to make it clickable to your feed. You can just use the feed url your site came with which is probably www.yoursite.com/feed

Here's a whole post I did on adding social networking buttons. It's the same thing except you're doing an RSS button instead of say twitter or facebook. :)

Hi Jackie, I have a WP blog that only has a tiny RSS icon in the URL address field.
I'd like to have a bigger button right on my pages.
I've seen people say to use Feedburner but I'm not sure what for :)
Maybe I'd get some code for a badge from them?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

RSS is a great way to keep your readers updated on your content and it will lead them back to you site again and again.

I have been commenting ... I really do follow all your advice - have also written 2 Ezine articles. I don't think I incorporated keywords in well enough for them. Will work on that in the next one.
And I am still working on lenses at present - our website is not quite ready for promotion yet! But my son did install Wordpress as you suggested I do - so now I must just move my blog across.
Thanks for all your help. Hopefully I will provide you with a wonderful success story soon!

you might look at simplemom.net, simplehomeschool.net, or any of the other big parenting blogs around ~ also the high profile content syndication would be a good thing too.

Are you working on lenses or your website right now?

The lensmaster feed should be fine. That's what I use. Have you found some blogs on a related or relevant topic to your lens ~ that use the commentluv or keywordluv plugins and left comments there? That might be another good way to build some links to them.

Yes - of course I got the report! I download everything you offer! I have been submitting my lensmaster feed - should I rather do it for individual lenses? I am seeing movement in some of my lenses - one though has disappeared entirely and it was on page 1 of google for its main keyword. I know you say this happens often, so I am just plodding on!

Meryl,
This linking stuff is going to take a little faith on your part. :) It does work, it's what makes your rankings better, and you're not always going to see every link you do show up in the site explorer rankings. Sometimes it takes time for Google to find and index the links you've done. Which is why you just have to keep building links until you reach the goal you've set for the lens. I looked up a lens of mine that I know has rss links ~ in fact, the rss directory link is coming up on the first or second page of google, and it didn't show them in the squidutils backlink checker. So just have faith. Did you grab the Geek Free SEO report? It walks you through some great tools to get a really good idea of just what you'll need to do link wise to get your site to rank. It's also very well written and easy to understand.

Jackie,
I started slowly submitting my lensmaster feeds to the RSS directories on your Mind Map a few months ago. When I use Squidutils Backlink checker, I don't see any links on any of my lenses that could be from a RSS directory. How can I know submitting my RSS feeds is having any real effect?
