What’s Next for Us? Please Let Me Know!

Next week is the end of the month and my editorial calendar for this blog is well… not done much past Feb. :)

So I’m asking you what you all want to learn next.

There’s been some requests for learning about building lists and creating reports. You want to go there or do you want to do something else?

Other options are (but not limited to)

monetizing a site

building an authority site

micro niche sites

we could do more on keyword research

we could do more on linking (but jeez that’s kind of boring and been covered, but I will if you want) :)

how to create your own product

** Let me know in the comments section ~ the topic that gets the most requests will be where we journey for March.  (only one vote per person) ;)

That's definitely going to be part of this series we're working on. :)

Like many others on the list, I really want to know more about listing building with programs like aweber. So how to install on a website, how to get people to sign up and then how to email them all with promotions.

Thanks for your informative blog.

Rafael ~ we did quite a bit of that a couple months ago. :) Check the articles page and scroll down to build a niche site. Follow the links to the articles on the topics you want to learn more about. www.internetmarketingformommies.com/articles.

Hi Jackie, I'd really like to learn how to build a good site from scratch, just like you would teach your little girl. Thanks.

BTW, I am loving this series. I've been able to unsubscribe to almost all of the "gurus". This actually makes sense now. Thanks a bunch.

I vote for :

1. More information on the best way to use Wordpress ex. best themes to use, best plug-ins, etc.

2. List building- how best to use auto-responders, how to build a good squeeze page.

3. Monetizing sites

4. More detailed keyword research techniques

Hi Jackie,

I would like to vote for micro niche site (more tips on traffic generation)

With regard to squidoo lens, could you give a overview of getting traffic/backlinks from the squidoo community or squidoo related directories?

Thank you for your continuous effort in providing valuable content. I have been reading and learning quite a lot from your posts.

Hi Jackie,

I vote for Micro Niche Sites Please!

Keyword Research!

If you're interested in a possible side job in this area, click my name...I need all the help I can get. :)

I'll go with the flow too. Anything you decide on is always interesting and informative.

Hi Jackie,

I like the idea of micro niche sites and how to monetize them.

MQ.

Hi Jackie, I would be really interested in list building (as I am just starting on this and trying to get my head round it !) and also article marketing. It may not be a whole topic but I always get confused on what keywords to submit to the article directories - is it my keywords I have researched or general keywords that relate to the topic of my article? Generally any info you give is great though so look forward to reading.

Enjoy reading your site. It provides a lot of interesting information, I'd like to learn more about monetization. Also virtual marketing- buying web sites already up and running. Thanks for all you do. I'll Be reading what you have to say.
Regards, Larry

My vote goes definitely for monetizing websites and creating Micro niche sites which can be authoritative and supporting the main websites. I come from the real estate industry and its needless to say the importance of having our website ranked on top of search engines.

I also would like to see more on how to monetize a site and keep your visitor on longer. Also more on micro niche sites, maybe some examples of different effective layout themes.

And a bit more on the kw research. We know that going after the specific product names is good but maybe a look at non specific product name kws would be good to go over.

Looking forward to future posts!

Tammy

#2 Ways to get people to stay on your site instead of them clicking away right away (increase avg. time on site and decrease bounce rate) - maybe do 1 post with some tips for this?
#3 Monetization methods

Hi Jackie,

I twallowed a lot of people here which was touched off by the first comment about list building everybody wants to do something but my major problem is just doing.

My mother just past on and I wanted to make something of myself online before that happened.

It was not my time but it was hers.

I found out what true friends are while the last 16 days took her last breaths.

Her friends gave her will to move on but her lungs said no and she knew it would happen having wrote her will in 2006.

While I wait for her ashes it is time to move on.

I would love to have a tribute to the lady who was tested, having her second child whisked away in an isolated polio ward while she bear my unborn sister and holding my other sister's hand awaiting my recovery which left me in leg braces and many surgery's.

I'd really like to learn more about how to get a list going, and how to USE the list.

(and if someone could teach me to be more organized, that'd be awesome too :D)

All are good ideas. An authority site would be nice to start with. Monitizing is important as well.

Even though you feel the back links have been beaten to death I would like to have you go through the most important search engines to hit with seo to get some fast business to a site. Which ones get the most bang for your buck right away to knock your competition out of the top natural listings.

Creating back links, to targeted locations on squidoo pages is another area I would like to start on as well.

Hi Jackie, I think monetizing a site and if possible a little more about getting traffic. I know we have the linking but I would still like to know a little more about traffic, and linking simply a long time approach. You do your initial links and what then? I know it is boring but it is something I have meant to ask you about. Maybe it is not a whole series in it I know. Simply some pointers, what do you do after the initial linking process.

So, it is wide open as far as I'm concerned as nothing else matters until you have traffic!

I'll go with the flow, too. But - I toss Micro Niche Sites and How to Create Your Own Product into the vote.

I would be very interested to see your views on both of these topics

Thanks for all your advice

I would really like to get help on monetizing websites and authority web sites. Either works for me.

I would also like to thank you Jackie for all the great information and knowledge that you are passing on. I really have learned alot from you.

Thank You Joe

Hi Jackie-
I'd like to vote for report/e-book writing, product development & website/blog monetization.
Thanks!
Paul

Great Idea.
I guess I would like to know more about Key words and how to get more site traffic.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Jackie,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to vote what we want to learn. You are great.
I go with Nancy... creating reports, monetizing sites, and micro niches.

By the way, Jackie... i have ideas to write a report but really not sure how to do it and give to people as a bonus or for a price. This thing always disturbs me daily. Hope you will share your experience or advice.

Thank you Jackie for asking, looking forward for your great posts.

Hi Jackie, LIst building and niche sites thanks

Hi all -

I know that Jackie of course will have the final say on what we do next - obviously!! But I noticed a lot of you would like to know more about micro niche sites and wanted to share a heartbreaking situation I had with those recently.

I built 5 micro niche sites this past October to try and cash in on Christmas traffic. Each site was centered around a very specific Christmas keyword - things that most all of us buy at Christmas time.

These sites had only 1-3 pages of content and were super simple to put together. During the month of November these 5 sites did work - and I earned over $200 in Amazon commissions. I thought I had finally solved the puzzle!

Unfortunately, during the first week of December, Google slapped me senseless and yanked all of my sites from the SERPS due to lack of content.

Just wanted to share my experience because I would hate for anyone else go through that - it was frustrating and very disappointing. But of course if Jackie has some tricks up her sleeve for making this type of site stick, I'm open to learning that too.

Kelly ~

Have they come back to the serps yet? Most if not all sites bounce in and out of the serps in the beginning ~ they usually come back to where they were if not better.

You can't really say it was for lack of content because you have no way of knowing that really ~ it could have been building too many links too fast, it could just the way things work ~ it could be a lot of things. If your site has been sandboxed (and I've had plenty of sites sandboxed lol) it will most likely come back ~ how long that takes depends ~ but it will probably come back.

Hi Jackie -

Nope the sites have not returned to the serps yet even after filing a re-inclusion request. And you're right - I can't say for sure that it was lack of content ( it wasn't linking because I hadn't done any:) but I was told that by the folks in the Webmaster Help Forum when I posted in there about my site situation. I tell 'ya...... I will NEVER post in that forum again - they are VICIOUS!! They tore me and my sites up for not providing users with adequate content and even called me a liar! That was a tough day.

Anyway... they may return and they may not but I am on to other things now. It was just an experience I felt obligated to share. I know many people have great success with this type of site.

Kelly ~

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience on that site ~ webmasters are probably a very different creature than internet marketers who build micro niche sites. Still it sucks to get beat down like that.

I vote for building an authority site. :-)

I think an interesting topic for sometime in the future could also be about how to work with internet markets to create "win-win" situations, such as ad swaps, guest blogging, list building, etc.

I look forward to your next series. Thank you, Jackie.

Creating a product, monetizing sites, and creating reports (would like to learn how to analyze what I've done). Thanks for asking, look forward as always to the next series! :)

Hey Jackie!

I'd love to hear about monetizing, authority sites (start to finish) and micro niches. I too am perfectly good going with the flow - AWESOME information here!

Hi Jackie, I vote for micro niche sites. :)

Thanks for asking feedback.

I vote for keyword research and micro niche sites. Thanks, Jackie.

I'm with Cindy and Kelly too, monetizing an authority site..
plus, I would love to learn how to add a favicon to my site.
thanks jackie for asking... you have no idea what you are getting yourself into.. lol

micro niche sites, please.

(BTW, lovin' this series, Jackie! Great stuff.)

Hey Jackie,

Drum roll:

List Building - I'm with Ryan on this one!

I vote for micro niche sites and keyword research. Thanks for everything.

Rachael

I vote for the micro niche sites.

Thanks for giving us a vote!

Brenda

I'm on board for "going with the flow." Everyone has already made suggestions for what I'd like to learn.

Thank you so much for your overwhelming generosity of your time and talents.

Michele

Hi Jackie,

I'm most interested in learning about building micro niche sites - I loved that post you did a little while ago where you showed us an example of one. And, I would like to know how does one go from building "christmas" lenses to micro niche sites - can a collection those christmas lenses become micro niche sites eventually? I know that PPG talks about turning OWM campaign lenses into micro niche sites...

Thanks,

Laura :O)

Hey Jackie,

I vote for monetizing sites and micro niche sites. Thanks for everything!

Tina

I'd like to talk about micro-niches a little bit for sure.

Hi Jackie!

I'm with Kelly. I would like to know how to build an authority site from start to finish – including keyword research, building your brand, creating a list and how to monetize. (Sorry Kelly, I just copied your input ;) )

Thanks!

Cindy

I vote for building lists, then monetizing a site then niche sites. Thanks for all you do.

Hi Jackie, it all sounds good and I too will go with the flow. And I want to learn to make a customer header for my blogs. It's on my list but thought I would throw it out there :)

I'll vote for monetizing a site.

Thanks for the opportunity.

RUSSELL

Hi Jackie -

My vote is for learning how to build out an authority site from start to finish - including keyword research, building your brand, creating a list and how to monetize. That's not too much to ask is it? ;)

Hey Jackie,
I would like to learn about how to monetize sites, micro niche sites and I feel like I can always learn more about keyword research.

Thanks
Chad
