Which Marketing Method to Use?

Now’s the time to decide [tag]which marketing method to use[/tag].  You have done your research, you know your niche inside and out, now you have to decide how you will get your message to them.

Here are some of the choices . . . [tag]hubpages[/tag], [tag]Squidoo[/tag], [tag]Blog[/tag], [tag]landing pages[/tag], full sized[tag] website[/tag], there are more I’m sure, but these are your basic choices. Below is some information to help you decide which marketing method to use for your campaign.

Squidoo, Hubpages, Blogs ~ you would benefit from using them all in conjunction with one another.  This method is labor intensive, as you will need to come up with quality, fresh content for each, plus articles to begin driving traffic. People also have many places to click off your page that you don’t control.  With all that said, Squidoo can get you to the top of page 1 in google within a few days with good keyword choices.  You may find that difficult with your own website.  Blogs too can quickly be taken to the top of google if you choose your keywords carefully. In fact, I had two blog posts last week from the 30 Day Marketing Experiment blog go to number 1 within a few hours.

Landing pages ~ landing pages are a short simple page providing information on the benefits of the product/service you are offering.  They frequently have an opt in box so you can also get the reader’s information to touch base with them later.   To use landing pages you will need to know some about making webpages. This shouldn’t be too intimidating though because there is an amazing site called[tag]www.weebly.com[/tag] where you can build a landing page by just dragging and dropping the pieces into place.  It is a free site, and definitely worth checking out.

Website ~ Having a website you can encompass all the information you would be putting at squidoo, and hubpages all in one spot.  You can also add a blog to your website for added credibility.  The draw back of websites is of course you have to build it or pay someone to do it for you.  The positives of having your own website is you choose how people can click out.  At squidoo there are many links on the page that are not yours, so people have many opportunities to click off the page on a link that does not lead them to your merchant page.  This is not true of your own website ~ unless you have other people’s ads on your pages. ;)   You can also use weebly to do this if you want to do it yourself.

Each marketing method has it’s own benefits and drawbacks, now you need to decide which marketing method to use based on your personal needs and wants.

Tomorrow we will be talking about keywords and how to get started with whichever marketing method you chose.

Thank you for this helpful post. I have been wanting to create a simple website but I have no experience in this area. So I checked out some free sites that could help me out. I tried Weebly and found them quite useful. I especially appreciated the great library of templates. I also tried out one called SynthaSite, which I found alot easier to use (even though they didn't have as many styles to choose from). But I am a real novice when it comes to designing a website, so for that reason I recommend SynthaSite: http://www.synthasite.com/
