If you are looking for a work at home opportunity it would serve you well to answer a couple questions about yourself before you begin to make a decision. You need to know who you are, what you like so you will find a work at home opportunity that you will enjoy and stick with for the long haul.

I have tried my fair share of ways to make money from home, and only one of them has been successful ~ the one I’m doing now. This is because I did not take into account some basics about me and my personality, what I like and what I don’t like ~ for real ~ not just the things I say to others, but how I really feel about things deep down.

If I had answered these questions before I chose my first work at home opportunity ~ it probably would have been my one and only attempt.

Here are some questions to ask yourself.

1. Do I like interacting with other people. Now be honest here. Yes, on paper everyone wants to be a people person, but when it comes down to it, you may be better suited to something that only counts on you, your behavior and your results to decide your profits.

If you enjoy being around other people you may be well suited to doing a direct market type of business. This is where you go to people’s homes and do a “show” or tell them about your product, and they buy right then and there. Of course you will have repeat customers, but the bulk of your new clients will come from these “parties”. This is also known as a “party plan” business.

If this sounds interesting to you let me tell you, you can find a company with a party plan for just about anything that might interest you. Just take some time to google party plan or network marketing with your interest in the search as well and just see what all you can do.

If you DON’T like being around other people much I would NOT suggest you move into this type of business, it will be hell for you. You can find network marketing companies that are almost entirely done online and this may work, but you will have to answer another question before you will know.

2. Do I like to teach other people what I know.

If you are a “born teacher” you will be great in this type of opportunity. The big thing about network marketing, even if it is completely online, is you have to be willing to show other people how to do what you do, to help them be successful, which is what makes you successful. If you don’t like to teach others, I would suggest you stay away from internet marketing all together.

3. Do I like to write?

If you like to write a great work at home opportunity might be affiliate marketing. This is completely anonymous, you don’t have to interact with others, or teach others, you success is completely determined by your efforts. Affiliate marketing is where you promote products that other people have made. It’s pretty much like being in advertising. The way things are promoted online though is done with a lot of writing. If you like to write this might be a great way to make money working from home.

4. Do I wanna be famous?

If you want to build a brand and have people know you, internet marketing may be the perfect work at home opportunity for you . There can be a huge learning curve with this, but there is a huge payout. You can also find great mentors and coaches who will help you learn the ropes.

Being a branded internet marketer means you will develop your own products, whether it’s ebooks, or software, or whatever you can think of that people will buy. You can set up membership sites, and collect monthly income from your subscribers. The options are limitless. It will take some time to build your brand, but it can be done relatively quickly if you are willing to put in the time, energy and effort.
